For the purpose to solve the Moire problem I made a feature request in this forum: its about an option in the flight control software which shall allow the user to fine-defocus the optics manually. That would solve all optical aliasing (including Moire) problems in an easy way.

Why the heck would you defocus and intentionally soften the image? I want pin-sharp like it is now. I've yet to see moiré that really affects the larger image. Even my DSLR can suffer this, yet I have never seen it in 15 years of owning the camera.

If u defocus a bit then u can eliminate aliasing effects. Moire patterns is an aliasing effect at periodic image structures - which can be visible and disturbing. We are talking about very small defocus steps, which can adjust the system optics and detector in such a way that aliasing is reduced. For deeper understanding google it....

It’s impossible to do it in realtime while filming and it’s impossible as well to perceive the effect on the controller screen/smartphone so this is a useless request.

It shall be implemented in the firmware (but images are already too poor in terms of details, so it will become even worse.).

Sorry, it will not work.

Is called Gaussian Blur, not defocusing...
What you say about slight defocus can be achieved with double video in post and desyncronize it with 1 to 2 frames (frames, not seconds).
But this is a dumb approach...all look will get soft.

It’s the same on the mavic3 pro which is a 200mbps camera so I don’t think increasing bitrate is going to fix it.

You cannot solve this it is a phenomenon of digital photography, you can return the drone or get a refund, but moire is simply a fact of digital photography. It wasn’t fixed on the M3pro so unless there is a miraculous fix it will be up to the photographer to try avoiding this as he does everyday with handheld cameras. A better lens may lessen the moire but if moire was not a thing or could be eliminated then why the need for software moire sliders.
This is not new to dji drones and has been there for a long time but it is highlighted on this particular subject rooftops , it is seen in very few other subjects, in fact I haven’t seen a single sample that shows in in anything else other than these roof tiles, so maybe try avoiding filming these or film in a way that is not going to attract so much moire.
