I just received my Neo and I am impressed with it's capabilities.  I plan on using it in FPV mode alongside my Avata2.

I would request that DJI create a higher capacity battery for the Neo, similar to what they did with the Mini 3.  A regular battery for 250grams and a higher capacity battery that made the take off weight of the Mini 3 heavier than 250.

Because the Neo is 135 grams I am fine with a take off weight of 250 or even more if I could get double the flight time on the NEO.

So a regular Neo battery that currently ships with it and a Neo battery Plus with double the flight time.

Thanks.

+1 on a higher capacity battery if the additional weight does not significantly compromise the Neo's Manual mode performance.  The CG of Neo by design or otherwise seems to be in a sweet spot based on the one Ytube video of no motor drop from 100 meters. Neo self leveled and ended up apparently autorotated the propellers reducing the descent velocity.

The added mass might improve the ability of the Neo to fly in wind.  As is I'm impressed with the Neo's ability to fly in light breezes in S and M modes.  Every other quad of similar mass flown has been more difficult to fly than the Neo.

Wondering what the Li-ion cells used in the Neo actually weigh relative to the total weight of the battery? Might be a minimal weight gain to have a significantly larger capacity battery. There is most the time a decreasing return on flight time with increased mass of a larger battery. "Faith" that DJI R&D can find the ideal compromise. From marketing and sales. We might  have to purchase another charging hub to fit the probably large dimension higher capacity battery.  Price we pay for propietary battery design.

Question about these generic batteries.  Overall quality and compatibility.  Someone here at another sub forum noted their generic batteries no longer worked with the latest firmware update.  Not the Neo or Avata series drones. One of DJI "cinematic" quads.

Right now I can stretch a battery to just over 10 minutes flying gently in M mode.  Flying down to ~30% capacity.  Cruising horizontal speeds just a bit over S mode max.  Pushing speed significantly over ~10m/sec and hard maneuvers  exponentially reduces flight times.  7 minute flight times.

11 minutes harder flying M mode would be nice.  But then I would want 13 minutes, then 15 minutes, then.....

Might be OK for follow me modes but for manual mode I doubt the props/motors could cope with the extra weight.

Unsure of how much additional mass the  motors and propellers could handle.

Weight a couple different lithium polymer, not lithium ion 1s batteries. Spektrum 210mAh is ~5gm. Glacier 600mAh is ~15gm.  The top propeller guards are close to 5gm. Wondering if the Neo could handle a net gain of 10gm without any negative effects or shortening the life span of the motors and propellers?  If so, the battery might have over 2000mAh capacity. Then the question is would there be a significant increase in flight times and minimal effect on how the Neo performs?

Right now taking a short break to switch out batteries every ~10 minutes for immersive free flying  is fine.  Purchasing additional existing batteries for longer sessions is probably what I will stick with. Unless the hypothetical higher capacity battery delivers a significant increase in flight times.

I think the current battery size is a good compromise. It can handle 15 minutes flying and even 5km of distance.
I believe it's enough to catch the view from above and play a bit around before you get bored.
So - do not need bigger battery

I can certainly see a higher capacity battery being popular it is something I would definitely go for

If I could get 15 minutes flying the Neo in Manual Mode even not going crazy Acro, just free flying it would be more than needed.   My brain and eyeballs would need a short break between batteries.  But right now even would appreciate a few more minutes of flight time.  Or just fly slow and steady in N or S mode.

Just buy more battery, the drone is optimized with this weight you will never see an official bigger battery

Support this request.
I already have 3 battery which is sufficient for normal use, operating radius around 2km or lower

But i do envision the need for extended capacity battery for long distance expedition type, operating radius 5km or lower. The one in aliexpress almost hitting 5km operating radius (fly to and return home)

It helps.

I'm also chasing this again, it would be really good to have some extra minutes flying time especially when vlogging in follow me mode. DJI please bump this up the wishlist!!!!

+1 for a larger battery option - just double the number of cells (2S1P becomes 2S2P) and make the battery pack thicker.  Would only add about 40g of weight which the Neo should be able to carry easily for cinematic shooting.   Would make long-range cinematic shooting possible.  Current 13-15 minute flight time limits you to 1-2km distance with a RC-N3 remote (assuming you want to get your drone back when you're done ).  If you don't need one, don't buy it.  But for those of us who do, it's invaluable!

Great suggestion! A higher-capacity battery for the Neo would be a game-changer, especially for extended FPV flights. Let’s hope DJI considers adding a "Neo Battery Plus" option in future updates!

IIRC,? DroneWilder Ytube video subject covered additional mass capacity of the Neo.  The Neo can lift off the ground another Neo piggybacked on it.  Does not mean you can efficiently fly the Neo with an additional 135gm load.   IIRC, ~25gm additional load didn't upset the handling of the Neo.  Question is with a 25gm heavier battery what would be the net increase in flight times.   25gm, you might get an additional 300-500mAh capacity. Relatively significant % increase is possible with minimal additional mass.   CG(center of gravity) of the Neo is really nice.  If larger battery would hope that the CG can stay the same.  Not a big issue if not flying Manual mode. DJI's stabilization system would mask any CG issues.

One way for DJI to generate more sales $$$s is to come out with a larger capacity battery.  HINT, HINT to DJI.

Yeah for sure. Me too. I've been 3d printing stuff for the neo and i haven't seen any decrease in performance with any added weight or drag. I really don't see why they wouldn't offer a larger battery size!

I have 6 batteries, I still would like to have a higher capacity option.

Now have 6 batteries and a 2nd charging hub.  If not flying on the property or neighbor's orchard it's load up and drive into town to fly at the sport field.  ~40 minute roundtrip to fly 3 batteries doesn't really make it worth the time.  Need the more or less open fields allows for working on manual stick skills with a nicely maintained  grass surface to crash on to.

Purchased just in case the threat of made in China tariff kicks in on Feb 1.  Actually just an excuse to justify purchasing the batteries.

Keep telling myself.  Be happy with 7-10 minutes of manual mode flight times.  Cannot even get 8 minutes in Angle mode on my non-DJI quads.
