Very interesting quarry site.  

I just read where New York is one of the top three states in the country for the value of its mineral production. The majority of mining in New York is for construction materials (crushed stone, sand and gravel, and cement)

I knew that New York was the top US producer of Garnet but I didn't know that New York is the only state in the US to continuously produce wollastonite.  It is used as a reinforcing filler in many products, including plastics, ceramics, paints, and construction materials. It can also be used as an asbestos substitute.

Yes, nothing like a bit of snow and blustery winds. Keeps you refreshed.
