The mic 2 recording sounds like it was clipping.
Quite bad quality TBH.

You need to compare the audio from the built-in mics of the Pocket 3 in those conditions (gusts from 45-60km/hr) to the separate lav mic and the DJI MIC 2 mounted externally. The difference in intelligibility is remarkable. No. There was no signal clipping. 32-bit float files were used from the MIC 2 internal recordings. Capsule clipping on these fairly low cost mics is always an issue, however, due to their quite low SPL handling which can become an issue in very high wind gust + ambient sound situations.

Yeah, too bad. Lowering the gain is not helping then.

No. Wind gusts overwhelming the capsules. You can only do so much with 'furries'. Very low max SPL ratings on these mics... only 106db SPL on the Rode Lavalier II. MIC 2 specifies 120db Max SPL, but that seems 'optimistic' to me in real-world conditions. Both are a long way below a DPA 4060 (134 db max) that could handle these conditions easily - at a price). They just start to break up easily in very high wind situations. At least they remain intelligible though, better than the inbuilt mics.

Yeah, much better than these built in mics for sure.
And I guess good placement will helpt too.
