I recently crashed my Phantom 3 and ended up having to do a
complete shell replacement. Given the magnitude of the work
required, I figured I would make a few additional upgrades as
well: Custom paint (lower shell), Remote Control HDMI Module
Upgrade, and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Propellers. Also, since
I was not able to find any YouTube videos or Forum threads
that went into the level of detail that I was looking for, I
went ahead and created a five-part series on YouTube that
walks through the process in detail. I'm guessing that there
are others out there who either have or will need to do a
full shell replacement at some point so I hope this series
will be helpful. Below, is a brief description of each of
the five parts along with a link. Feel free to reach out if
you have any questions!
Thanks for all the feedback guys! - glad to hear that you like it. Please feel free to share with any others that you think may find this post beneficial.
Excellent work m8, and love your new paint job! I did notice you used 4 gimbal dampners there should be just 2 other wise you will get an overloaded gimbal warning.
Thanks Tim - quick question for you regarding the friendly debate taking place on my thread... So on my aircraft, I have always had four damper balls and four clear pins/clips going through the four balls. However, it seems like the norm is to have four damper balls, but only two pins/clips (front right and back left). What I would like to know is:
1). Which is correct and why?
2). Is it harmful to have all four balls with pins through them?
Very excellent and useful post. I wish you worked for DJI, I am sure you would be great in the repair department. Any ideas on how to fix a blurry camera lens? My P3P camera is out of focus.
