Mini3 wont Pair, I've done the steps, what now?

Hi DJI and everyone,

Please help if you have any idea/s.


I bought my Mini 3 on June 13. I've flown it a few times, the last time on November 28. I wanted to drive the drone, but it wouldn't pair with the RC when I turned it on. It's December 5-ish. I've done the steps.

-Autopair
-Manual pair(pairing mode)

-Using the relink aircraft options in the controls tab(camera view)
-updated the firmware of the aircraft and the rc.



It still wont pair.

Error/s:
-When I try to pair using the manual pair, using the pair button it says "ensure the aircraft is powered on and in pairing mode", when I'm using the pairing mode(hold down the button in the drone for 4s).

-When using the relink aircraft, the error is "linking failed"

I've also done this(by dji)

1. Please check whether the aircraft and remote controller both are powered on.
2. Please check whether the aircraft has a microSD card. If yes, remove the microSD card and try linking again.
3. Please switch the linking method between “Linking with the app” and “Linking with combination buttons”.
DJI RC-N1: Customizable button + Photo/video toggle + Shutter/record button
DJI RC: C1 + C2 + Record button
Aircraft: Press and hold the Power button on the aircraft for four seconds to prepare to link
4. If it is invalid, check whether the remote controller has been updated to the latest version. Connect the remote controller to the app (make sure to connect Wifi or a hotspot when using RC with a built-in screen). After the connection is successful, check whether there is a prompt to update the firmware. If yes, update the firmware to the latest version and try linking again.
5. Please connect the aircraft to the computer, check the aircraft firmware version in the DJI Assistant 2, and try linking after updating and refreshing the aircraft’s firmware to the latest version.
6. If the issue persists, please record a video showing the linking process and firmware version screenshot, and we will check it for you.

Hmm.Just last week I paired(linked) a new Mini 3 myself (but to an RC-N1)... and several times before, switching drones and remotes etc...but even so, I fear I can't help much. Maybe  seeing your video sideways is one convolution too far for me but of all those methods listed, the "DJIFly" method has always worked even if there's sidebars of  "binding", updating and non-intuitive messaging.

I did hear and see the drone chirp correctly and blink to pairing mode...I did NOT see the controller go into pairing mode. Double check in that territory as to order of instruction-maybe  get  the controlller's pairing mode going first? see step 4 here

  As a remote possibility,, I need ask, have you had another mini 3 linked to this controller? because there is a notable exception to successful pairing I've run into.: I have two mini 3s. I cannot change pairing from one to the other Mini3s (with the same firmwares) , even while I can between a mini 2 and EITHER mini 3.

Hi, yes I've tried it, just now, still can't go to pairing mode. I'm going to try to downgrade the drone. thank you for the idea.

also, I do not have any other drones.

My phone can connect to the DJI fly app, can access its photos but could not control the drone with it. this is just an fyi.

Did you try in sequence?

A: Press and hold the Fn Button, Photo/Video Toggle, and Shutter/Record Button simultaneously for about 2 seconds, until the remote controller beeps and the battery level LEDs are rolling.    (this seems to be what's not happening whichever method used)

B: Press and hold the power button of the aircraft for about 4 seconds, and release it when the aircraft beeps and the battery level indicators are rolling, which indicate that the aircraft is in the linking state. (this seems to work)

B) I tried it. the battery indicator on the rc wont try to roll. (rolling animation). and theres no beeping. also, the battery indicator is always red. it wont turn to blue.

argh. I feel your pain, Fongod. It seems (maybe)  that the RC controller's  is the issue and I don't have any  experience with the "RC" type ... if it comes to it, DJI has a  1 year warranty and are very good honouring it.
