I think it is most likely the osmo action 6. I just think that they want to get all the FCC labels now, so they can release and get products out as fast as possible, before a ban

So fast? ....what a bummer....hope the accessories like the remote gps controller, batteries etc are still compatible!

Yah, I think they will be compatible, otherwise people would be mad. It has been about 3 months since the action 5 release.

That would be a pain for you since you have such a new camera. I hope the action 6 has some big improvements like a bigger sensor, like a 1in or 4/3.

I'm guessing a larger aperture of at least to 2.6 to be in par with the Ace Pro 2 and better lens quality....and more features for V-logging/ Live Stream etc.... It's hard not to satisfy influencers' demands and wishes for market dominance...

Ace Pro 2 is able to pause recording and continue for a seamless video of multiple clips ...so I'm sure DJI is incorporating this as well...
Not too sure about the larger sensor though as DOF would be a problem with large apertures.

Let's wait and see....monkey see...monkey do. Even Go Pro is adopting the quick release catch system like DJI and Ace Pro...

Why would they raise the ape rapture, because it would give worse low light quality. I think that if you use ND filters it would be better, also having a variable aperature could be useful.

Actually ND filter cuts off light to the sensor to avoid overexposure in view of the shutter speed is not fast enough to prevent this. In fact you get, lower shutter speeds which would be bad for image stabilization. There is a nice article here to explain what it does. Sorry if you are already knowledgeable on this topic..

When I said raise apertures...I meant lower F numbers which means larger apertures. OA4 and OA5 are at F2.8 while the Ace Pro2 is at F2.6. I have a few prime lenses at F2.0...and the advantage is there.

No, the camera testing will be sent to reviewers later. Likely a week before the launch date.

Yes the  contracts go out way before a week,   more like a month no one knows but the last  ones who did the testing, are you one?  love to be one then I can give my  open and honest opinion Lol

First they will release is Osmo 360 and probably in August we will see Action 6.
I think Osmo 360 will be like two Action 5 with boost lenses to make it 360, wonder how the stitching will be.

Ifi can find at a low price an X2 by insta  that will work for me, do not need an X3 or X4,  the size is the right size and it  did a great job when I had one,  DJI  first getting in to 360  lol we'll see how that goes

I hope they will also fix Standard (deWarp) view.....the left and right areas (of landscape orientation) are still distorted. I used to have the Go Pro (Hero 9) and the standard view is less distorted than what I am seeing.

I bought an action 5 but to be honest I tend to use my Action 4. I also still like my action 3’s but would love a DJI 360 to compare with my x3

well hope they can win us over,  maybe put DJI to the side till ore users can tell DJI to fix

Dont believe bigger sensor hype from youtube. It comes with many physical problems like fixed DOF unless the aperture is not hanged to high values and then it is even more stupid because light received is always the lens aperture regardless of the sensor size. These are kids action cameras not cinema cameras.

For drones larges sensor works because the landscapes are far away and you wont notice any DOF.

They already complained DOF when Pocket 3 came out and it has even moving focus not fixed like action cams.

I reckon it's a new camera. Surely they wouldn't release another so quick after the Action 5 Pro?!

Unlikely, because for DJI to fix it, they first need to acknowledge the problem actually exists. Usually when someone posts a complaint about it, the official DJI response is usually the standard "this is normal optical behavior on lenses in sunlight" or some nonsense like that even when it is demonstrated that it doesn't happen on other action cams.

Speaking as someone who uses the Action 3, 4 & 5 Pro for motovlogging, I'd love to see DJI allow us to record our comms audio onto the camera in any future updates/upgrades

It would be a simple update for them. The camera’s already have a usb-c port.

what   gets me is that DJI best not get more AI into these things as that looks where it may go.

Money is more important than a functional product

I wish they would fix the Action 4 and Action 5 flare problem.

If DJI messed up the Action 5 pro, they best start telling people up front what to expect on a future model

Still don't think this is an Action 6 so quickly after the 5 Pro - thats like DJI admitting the Action 5 Pro had issues so they reworked and released a new model. It will also lead to a large number of unhappy Action 5 Pro customers, who won't want to spend on yet another upgrade within a few months of the last one, and in extreme cases it may end their loyalty with the product line.

It could possibly be a different camera altogether - like GoPro has the smaller cut down version - or it could be the 360 camera?
Also remember these companies work 1 or 2 years in advance, so with the release of the Action 5 Pro, the design for the next model is being finalised and testing started already. It takes a lot of R&D to develop and test these complex products after all.....

I am sure like the action 3 they quickly did the Action 4,  if they release a premature Action 5 pro to test the waters ,ts bad business if a Action 6  hits in Feburay to April 2025  called an Opinion my two cents

If they don't use a bigger sensor then image quality will be the same as the 4/5.  So no need to upgrade from the 4/5 to the 6.  Right now the best is still the 4 at $209 because in my extensive testing - the 5 isn't really better than the 4.  

I hope optical internal zoom so it can stay waterproof

I hope that this will be just a cut-down camera at an affordable price. It will not have D-LOG M, HLG.
- There will be normal 10 bit with limited settings. As far as I understand, 90% of users shoot in normal 10 bit and they are happy with everything.
- If this is the case, then this will be a good move on the part of DJI.
- I hope this will not affect the updates of Action 5 and DJI will fix the main problems of the camera.
