Flying Neo in Bad Weather

Really nice find DA.    There's some beautiful footage in that video.  Under those inclement weather conditions the Neo really did perform superbly.

Been reading up on some of the DJI drone rumors.  Seems the Mavic 4 is going to have 180° full field of view cameras.  Hopefully, the Mini 5 Pro with it's rumored LIDAR sensors and enhanced motors will happen.  Seems most rumors call for a May/Jun release for the Mini 5 Pro.

The leaked photos of the Mini 5 also look very promising,  although Im not convinced the camera sensor looks like it's any bigger.

If we could only have LIDAR or a larger camera sensor I'd definitely vote for larger sensor.

Me too.  I mostly have my OA turned off as it's unreliable in low light.

I rarely use OA unless I happen to be in an unfamiliar area.  My thought process is that if you are going to be the PIC then fly your drone using your skills and don't rely on an automated assist system.  However, I guess I need to admit that APAS has saved my drone at least twice.  

Interesting video - but I’ll leave that kind of flying to the stunt pilots with fat wallets

Thats the thing with the Neo it's really cheap and the care refresh is exceptionally cheap.

I find in the low light flying as the levels come up the drone will kangaroo.,    as it pitches forward things get darker and it brakes and repeats.   So I just keep it off unless I specifically feel the need for it.  Even with it off I still get low light warnings.

The OA tends to get false readings when flying towards the sun.  Don't get me wrong they are some places where they help but for the most part, like you, I keep them turned off.  I can't do that on the Skydio 2+ though.

Still, the Mavic 2 was a great flagship during its heyday.  If the drone restrictions weren't so bad for 250G and above drones in the UK you'd probably be tempted by the upcoming Mavic 4.

Very interesting video, with a bunch of really amazing shots. Seems like rain doesn't impact the Neo too much!

I probably wouldn't be tempted by the Mavic 4,   one thing Ive learnt is that carrying the Mavic 2 around is just too much,     Especially when my trend shows Im walking over 4000 miles a year most of which Ive got a drone in the bag.

It's good then that the Mini series drones meets your requirements.  They are for sure lightweight and easy to transport.

Ive not weighed it,  but drone, 4-5 batteries and the controller adds up still.

I dug out the old OP1 the other day to give it to somebody and it didn't hold a charge since last used and now it will not charge at all.  No problem, I gave him the OP2 instead.

We got a nice break in the clouds, but the fog came soon after (just when i was in the air)
