Dear DJI,

Now that you have de-activated syncing to your cloud, you have also removed our ability to connect with every type of flight logging app.. Aloft, AirData, Drone Logbook, etc.

For those of us who fly commercially, this is not merely a “nice” feature, it is a Federal REQUIREMENT.  While we understand your reasons for shutting down the cloud, it would be wonderful if you would remove the lock on installing 3rd party apps on the RC2 so that we can keep our logs through other means.

Exporting txt files manually is not only cumbersome and tedious, it is also lacking telemetry and other key data.  Barring allowing companies such as AirData to install their own custom exporters, which would be the BEST solution, please consider releasing your own tool or app for iOS to accomplish this (as the RC2 is an Android-based file system, and by far the vast majority of video professionals use iOS or MacOS).

Thank you for your consideration of those of us who use your products for more than just toys.

I’m wondering.. if there’s a way to Quick Transfer photos/videos from the RC2 onto iOS, wouldn’t it be possible to extend this capability to also browse FILES (ie, the flight logs)? This seems to be the simplest solution, and I’m frankly amazed it hasn’t happened so long after the DJI Cloud capability was removed.

Alternatively.. even though I’ve switched storage on the RC2 from internal to external SIM, the flight logs are still stored internally (and after only 46 flights the storage is nearly half full, making me wonder what will happen when I hit 100+ flights).. if the flight logs could instead ALSO be stored on the external SIM, I could simply physically move it between the controller and my iOS devices. Seems a simple firmware update could easily allow for this.

Or.. a 3rd option.. Wi-Fi?  Bluetooth?

Come on DJI, this should have been addressed months ago!
And does NOT seem that difficult to implement..

Do I have to downgrade to the older RC just to get logs onto my phone?

Alternatively, if DJI has no plans to implement any of the above solutions in the future, why not permit the installation of 3rd party apps on the RC2 so we can use a solution such as the AirDroid app for iOS?

I find myself wishing I would gone with the plain old RC controller instead of the more expensive RC2, just so I would be using my iPhone and the DJI Fly app instead of the built in screen, had I known that accessing my own flight logs would prove THIS cumbersome.. there has to be a better way!

Hi there. If you want to export flight records from DJI RC 2, please power on the DJI RC 2, connect DJI RC 2 to the computer with the Type-C data cable, select DJI RC 2 on the computer, and follow the path to find the flight record (or MCDatFlightRecords) and export it: internal shared storage/Android/data/dji.go.v5/files/FlightRecord.

However, we truly value your feedback, and we'll make sure to pass it on to the right team for review. Thank you so much for your understanding and support!
