Please save your money by ignoring this wrong information on ND filters. There is an epidemic of incorrect usage of these things.
If you are only taking photos ND filters are completely unnecessary as you can make exposure adjustments with the camera.
Since the Phantom has a fixed aperture, ND filters are used to reduce light in videos where you want to achieve a "cinematic" motion blur effect by having your shutter speed at 2X the frame rate, e.g. 1/60th of a second at 30fps. Motion blur is a matter of preference. I often prefer videos without it. You may need an ND filter on a very bright day. If your video shutter speed is too high you may get the jello effect which is unpleasant to watch.
For photos, just adjust the camera shutter speed up or down to get the exposure you want .
