Thanks for sharing.  I hope you are having somewhat of a bit better weather day today.  

I'm headed to the pistol range and work out some frustration and try out some newly loaded rounds that I tried a new brand's primer on.  I hope it doesn't blow up in my face.

Not great,  woken early to the wind thumping the side of the house, and its barely got under 34mph gusts all day.

Sounds like you are having some really gusting winds.  34mph is even way too much speed for kite flying.  It would make for a challenging day out on a sailboat though.

New primers on my reloads worked out great yesterday.  No misfires and they burn cleaner so less residue left in the chamber and barrel making it quicker to field strip and clean after firing.

Do the primers make the black powder burn better thus the cleaner chamber,   I cant imaging the tiny bit In the primer itself making much of a difference?

The other brand of primers I was previously using contained tetrazene.  The new brand of primers I use contain a small amount of a more sensitive explosive material called lead styphnate.  The lead styphnate ignites quicker and burns hotter.  I found it was the brand used mostly in the military or by professional shooters so I figured it had been field and battle tested.  Turns out it is a far superior primer.  

For me accuracy over a longer distance when shooting targets is key so I want to use a heavier bullet with a high ballistics coefficient. So I use a state of the art powder called Hodgdon CFE223 and it has additives that reduce copper fouling.  All in all the reloads are a tiny bit more expensive but well worth it for accuracy and keep a clean gun and well maintained.

I didnt realise there was so much to it.  But I suppose anything you can do to slow the build up the better for accuracy.

There really is a lot to properly maintain a firearm and even more to getting accurate with reloads.  I'm just always super careful as I remember a guy blew himself and his workshop up in Arizona about 10 years back by not being safe with the power of his reloads.  Even static electricity poses a threat.

Id been using hyper lapse and turning on raw and then I can the raw images,  but I also get a lot I dont want,  but it kinda works.

I tried it once, but did not get good results.
I forgot to set it to RAW somehow.

Its by no means perfect and it only works with raw on really.

I will have to try again, but I don't like you have to fly the path twice. Once to set it and once to make the actual recording. I was assuming it could be done on the map on forehand.
This takes too much battery (or I must be missing something)

You're not missing anything.   And on the M2P even though you can plot it on the map the drone had to be on the entire time.

There were some tools to allow you use a free litchi account to plan a mission and then convert it to the fly app waypoints db.

That's the DJI way now though isnt it,  the crossover between enterprise and pro/consume is getting less all the time.   Right down to the enterprise drones not having raw or360 pano modes.

They have a strategy probably, but sometimes it is a bit weird.

And that strategy includes very limited access to the SDK and usually not for at least 1 year.

I dont blame them really,  there is already a lot of features in the drones that they sell to use mere mortals.  It's the people that buy with unrealistic expectations that annoy me.

Yeah true.
Although I wish they would make their code open source sometimes.
We had one company do this in 2023 with a music device and it brought so much innovation (and sales for the company too)

Thats never going to happen when the authorities want the products limited to meet the various regional classifications,   if the source was available it would be too easy to bypass the restrictions.

Have you tried the POI?     It keeps it centre in frame and you can fly how you desire,   so you could half circle and then start to back out as an example.

I wonder if it would keep the rooster in the center, so I could do manual circles as often as I want.
