I never thought I would say this but for me FPV with the Neo and Goggles N3 and the Motion 3 is the best thing by far about the Neo. I like it far better than any of my other of my drones

Yeah, I totally believe that, but for me FPV is not a route to go. Even though I think I would like it.
It's way too limited in NL because I need a spotter at all time.
Which means I'll never fly it, because I don't want to ask anybody on these boring walks /sit outs.

The Neo is so small and flys so close in the concept of a spotter is ridiculous. Just be sensible and enjoy. I see Hendric all over You Tube in the NL. Never a spotter in sight

#Szybka odpowiedź tutaj# Great rev. My Neo with Googles 3 and Motion 3 (Avata 2 set) is pure joy. No need any special permits, totally freedom.
...and yes, you have right, anyone who want fly with no objection about "oh my good where my 1000 dollars, pounds go" Neo is must have. When fly Avata or new Air you think about so many things, here you don't. If Neo go away... ok, next one - thats psychically proof, works that way for many, mayby everyone. Hard to damage, with rubbers and metal cover on top (camera) you can fly with no mercy for that little buddy ;-)

So, if you want flying for fun Neo is best addition. Only one disadv.: battery live. But with two more and good powerbank you can fly more than 30 minutes, my scenario is no less than 40-45 minutes with top speed and lots of maneuvers. 3-4 cycles with one battery juiced on route. No bad and pure joy, like I said.

I would disagree with the use of the word need. I assume you mean one is required by the rules just as in the UK. But of course we all have our own brains and can decide what we do and where we do it.

Here is the flight I had today and had great fun. What would have been the point of a spotter as I was never over 5m high and generally in my own garden. It is always important to use common sense and not deny yourself things because of Stupid Rules

Yeah, I use that too, but not for FPV flying in my backyard.
That would be boring as something starting with f

And I'm not feeling good about doing that anywhere else, so no FPV for me.

It's too restrictive here sadly,   we still have to have a spotter and be 150m away from people, structures, vehicles, parks, beaches etc.    So the Avata is the better choice in the fields where we can fly.

No Restrictions what so ever if you use your brain and common sense. You could of course worry about all that nonsense and deny your self fun and go even further and try and deny others as well. And bang on and on about restrictive squit

I am having loads of fun flying FPV with the Neo in my own garden and there are no rules there other than what I make.
For Pitys sake think what damage 150g going 8m/s can do to anything. Or do you just subcontract all your thinking to others.

Just because you want to break the law doesnt mean the rest of us try and follow the rules,    Im assuming you dont bother with MOTs or indicators when you drive either.

In Poland we have not. You can fly drone freely if weight is <249 grams. No restriction here. New actual law gives obligatory insurance for flyers with is good of course. I.e. broken window = no problem. ;-) Law give extra restrictions about some public areas, mass events and so on, but if you fly behind 120 meters and weight is less than 249g no problems with regulations. Flying near buildings, near people, on beach, public places …you can without extra permissions and extra limits.

So with Neo you can fly like you want and no one can't accuse you of breaking the law. We have license for amateurs but for C1 and up. So If you have only and no more than Neo, you have a toy in Poland but this toy can fly like bigger and more advanced drones (but no more than 2-3km like you said in review). Very good for practice and for beginners. DJI do it in right direction imo - not only near filed control but more pro methods also here, and you enjoy. Of course, common sense is important… I fly near 3 airfields in my region (but some kilometers to NFZ, for sure), one of them is military base and I'm extra caution. Some, especially military helicopters, fly near 150 m limit and you have to remember that. DJI and different producers could integrate life air traffic info to theirs controls software. It will be good for security reasons.

Interesting,   Does Poland not follow the EASA rules for FPV?

We have a little mess here today. Our old rules (national rules) with 3 different types flying operation: VLOS, BLOS ...and different for FPV. Last is a little gray zone ;-) because per se its BLOS not visual, and you can operate without observer in that scenario. EASA rules change our law from 1.1.2025 (new, updated legal regulations) and change some things (like obligatory insurance), more restriction, Increased penalties with is sad, but when you operate <250g devices in Poland, you can for example flying over people ("exceptional situations"), also you can flying that thing without any special permissions, obli trainings, obli exams and so on. No fly plan, no observers… thats why Neo is good choice for someone who don't want ...serious way of flying with regulations. With C1… you have to, but not with C0.

That EASA rules btw are elastic in some places, they give National Regulators permission to shape the rules.

Thats confusing then as the EASA rules specifically say that local countries cannot deviate if they have a rule in place.

Interesting, I just realized I have had my NEO for 100 days - and always carry it with me, I do not fly it very often as I really did not like the camera quality - but I fly it a lot in cases of - follow me (somebody)  or in very dense environments where I prefer loosing/breaking him instead of Avata 2 (also in the bag + 7.5" FPV - long-distance choice)

Give it a go at FPV You will love it don't take any notice of the so called rules that sad people think it is clever to copy and paste. It is those people that are the issue and not sensible drone flyers that use their own common sense.

I bet you those copy and paste twits are also in the Neighbourhood watch and run the local busy body and curtain twitching association

Like I said, we have no insurance <250g until 1/1/2015 for example. So, like you wrote, some things are different (definition what is and what is not DONE, cos <250g device was not in polish law drone, it was toy). Now after upgrade that fundamentally distinction under and beyond 250g weight still exists. When I said grey zone I mean that "toy" today can operate like >250g device, the same, so kilometers range, hundred meters alt and so on. You can today fly NEO without many restrictions but after accident authorities may accuse you, for example, that you flew above the ceiling of 30 meters, which is as much as a "toy" can reach to fly according to the national regulations.
PS. BTW many times UE law and national law (UE member) were not adapted and little of it penetrated, especially into less important issues.
