Fodder Beat harvest in full swing as I catch up with Tullyannon Farms as we get the final part lifted...
With the Ford 7740 working the 1 Row Almer Samon Beet Harvester Gareth works his way across the field. Sown back in the spring time with a 12 row drill it is now time to get it dug up and stored in the shed.
As you can see the beet is lifted using the leaf via the rubber belt which takes it to the top of the line and the leaf is cut off and thrown out the back and the beat drops into the baskets and spun around removing soil and any other debris before it is thrown up into the hopper.
Tipped and back at the farm it will be chopped and then fed to the cattle which we will catch up with later in the year at feeding time.

What an interesting process to watch. It's amazing at how much of a labor saving machine that Beet harvester is. Another superb job of filming and editing.
