What a gross ABUSE of the President's powers, in particular the pardon of Hunter Biden.
Here is an interesting statistic:
President Biden has pardoned 8,064 people (and still going strong)
President Obama pardoned 1,927
President Carter pardoned 200,566
President Trump pardoned 237
President George W. Bush pardoned 200
Seems a particular political party is overusing the pardon power.
Is there a limit on the power to pardon? Yes, U.S. Constitution, article II, § 2, cl. 1; see Garland, 71 U.S. at 373 (acknowleding that the President's authority to grant pardons is subject to the exception of cases of impeachment and that with that exception the power is UNLIMITED). |
