Hello,

I have recently bought a DJI Power 1000 to mainly use as an UPS in case of power outages.
I have electricity from wall outlet connected to the AC input of DJI Power and my homelab devices like router, server etc connected to the DJI Power AC output.
I have left the recharging rate seitch button at 600w, to preserve battery in case it needs to be recharged after power outages.

The problem is, when my devices are using more than 1200w the DJI Power battery seem to be discharging.
As per DJI Power 1000 specifications the AC input should be able to bypass 2200w of power, but my battery is getting discharging instead.
How to insure I can bypass 2200w from the wall outlet, while in UPS mode? Is this a firmware issue?

I think that there is no chance . you can not charge faster then 1200w so if you discharge it with 2200 w it will be not enough power to charge . Im sure i saw in manual information (not in specs ) about max power for bypass mode that can still charge your ststion and power you load . And i think it was max load was 1000w . not even 1200. i will try to find this info .

In the specs it says:

AC Output (Bypass Mode)
DYM1000L: AC 100-120 V, 12 A, 1440 W
‌DYM1000H: AC 220-240 V, 10 A, 2200 W

By reading this I think it is natural that we think that the DJI Power 1000 can provide 2200w of power from bypassing (instead of from the battery).
If not what is the bypass mode and how to activate it? Does it work together with UPS?

If DJI Power can't provide this feature, I think they are selling their product worngly.

By the way, the official manual says this about the input:

For me bypass mode should be UPS. The manual says this about UPS mode:

In this case, the AC power outlet is powering both the power station and the connected device. Note that UPS is enabled by default.

If DJI power is using the battery instead of the AC power outlet while in UPS mode, it means the product does not work as stated or the product is defective.
In any case, it should give the users right for a refund.

Yes . According that spec you have 2200W AC input . That means that you have 1200W for charging and 1000W for your load while charging . I think when you will get your station fully charged - it will give you 2200W from wall socket , but not from bat.

Well, that's the theory, but in practice it is not working like this.
I had it set-up at home with a home lab consuming maximum 1300w and after the battery being 100% full it was still discharging, which means the 2200w is not being bypassed!

So, we could take few conclusions:
- Specs are wrong / Marketing team is lying to consumers
- Firmware is faulty / buggy
- My device is faulty

I am trying to figure out which one is the actual true.
It would be helpful if DJI team gives an official response to this one.

yes . about 2200W after full charging it was my theory . not from manuals . but about 1000W max output i definitely get this info from somewhere. now i can not find where it was exactly , but it was for sure .

Its extremely poor manuals for power series products .

So, bypass mode is basically a lie / marketing gimmick?

Hi Tony,

I have already sent photo and video to DJI via its support. I have also sent the device logs for analysis.

In the meanwhile, it would be interesting if you confirm that the device can indeed provide 2200w of power when on bypass mode (UPS), as advertised, or if the battery gets depleted when more than 1200w is being drawn form the 220v power output of the device.

I have just sent you a private message.
Still, I think the community would like to know if the 2200w output on bypass / UPS mode is really possible.
