Can no longer share 360 sphere photos to Facebook?

I have the M3P and I've shared hundreds of 360 photos using the DJI Fly app connecting to Facebook.

It no longer works.  It is posting a static photo only with an annoying message each time after it is posted that Facebook would like to post to the DJI Fly app.

We should not have to go to a different app for this to work. I and others had this work just fine in the past.  What has changed?  Can we get this fixed?  Thank you.

Thanks for the response.  The message/error message is prompted after exiting out of Facebook.  I can not tell of any difference in behavior if I select "don't allow" or "allow" the paste.

I'm following the same steps I always did of using the DJI Fly app to connect to the drone, share from there, to Facebook Groups, and it looks like it is working but after exiting Facebook you get this message in the photo and the photo that is posted does not have 360 degree capability.  I would really like to have the previous functionality.  Thank you.

I am not sure, maybe so.   I know others have uploaded from google photos to facebook with no problem that, like me, could not upload the old way.  So Facebook doesn’t haven’t a problem with google or 360 photos.   I hope DJI can keep up with changes with other companies as things evolve.  Not sure if an update with one of the companies broke this but hoping it can get sorted out.

Hi there, thank you for shairng the screenshot. Kindly accept " allow paste " option and try again. If the issue still persist, kindly share us a video recording showing the steps from start to end for us to check and advise accordingly.

Keep us posted and thank you for your understanding!

As I've mentioned, I've already tried both options already with no change in behavior.  And this "error" message pops up AFTER all of the other usual steps.    I am an experienced user and I am not doing this any different from the steps I've followed before.

It is not possible for me to make a video today.  The steps are downloading the footage from the drone to the phone using the GoFly app, from there selecting the 360 photo, click share, to Facebook, and from there the menu option has changed appearance since all this started.  Instead of "story, feed, groups) it is a different view.  You can still select groups, but it is different.  I select groups, pick my group, post the photo, then exit from Facebook app back to GoFLy.  It paste only the static version of the photo.

It will take some time for me to record a video and I'm not able to do it today.

I am a little surprised that whoever is investigating this cannot run off the very specific detailed instructions I  provided which are consistent with the instructions provided by DJI. Rather than putting it on me to produce more information Could they not do their own test to duplicate posting to Facebook to see if it works? Thank you.

I am not completely sure how to record this so you can see it, but please see this link to YouTube with the video.  I recorded my phone.  For this demo, I did the process twice.  I do not normally do it twice but I did it to show the impact of the "pasting" message.  I actually backed out of the 2nd attempt but it still posted the static photo twice.  I made notes on the video that the three options that used to pop up have changed to a drop down menu at the top.

Having the same issue as well.  Worked fine for a long time, not sure what changed.  I am using an iPhone 11 and have been since I bought the Mini 2.

Agreed. There was one other post on here started by someone else, and I've seen posts in other forums other than this site of people noting the same new behavior.  Someone told me to try to post from Google Photos.  I don't use that but I gave it a shot.  While it didn't work for me because I didn't want to grant Google photos full access to my entire photo library, I did try to do it quickly and the sharing didn't work.  But what I did notice is that doing it that way showed the "previous" three options that popped up in blue about story, feed, groups (or whatever they said).  The new way through DJI Fly to Facebook has it pop up at the top in a weird drop down thing, that doesn't work.

I tried from google photos as well and no luck.  I sent a report to Facebook explaining the problem.  Hopefully they know something about issue.

Is there any way to share these 360 photos directly to Facebook at all right now?

I'm having the same issue.  I used to be able to post 360/Sphere photos previously on several occasions.  Google Photos no longer recognizes sphere photos from DJIFly either.  I don't think this is a Facebook (or Google Photos problem).  I suspect a recent update from DJI has broken how the EXIF data is written out.  I'm also surprised DJI is requiring an extraordinary amount of information to verify the issue via a video.  Perhaps they should try the steps and confirm what they are seeing.

Thanks for the information and detail. I did post a video via a link. I don’t know why it doesn’t preview here and hopefully they have not missed my link above with the video. I just assumed it was a stalling tactic.

No luck with any other route that I could think of.

I’ve tried, Mobile FB, through DJI, Desktop… nothing.  I even tried uploading a duplicate 360° to one I already have on Facebook and it wouldn’t recognize it.

Not with the current version of the app.

I don't normally use Sky Pixel but tried with that as well.  No luck.  I guess that's because this version of the app has screwed up the export for everything?  On Sky Pixel, I received a fatal error/black bar sort of message. Didn't post a photo at all.
EDIT UPDATE:  I went back in about 10 minutes later or so, and the 360 photo DID show up in Sky Pixel.

Just one more update to my Sky Pixel experiment.  The 360 photo showed up in Sky Pixel.  Sharing from Sky Pixel to Facebook did not work.  Just another static photo (non-360) showed up.

I was able to post a 360 photo to sky pixel. If that’s the case, does that suggest this could possibly be a Facebook/Google issue?

Appreciate the response but no idea how that is possible.  Before I knew how to do it the "approved" way, I tried to upload from my desktop to Facebook using my SD card.  Doesn't work as it doesn't have the required metadata.  Fine if posting photos.  Fine if posting videos.  But not for 360 photos.  Please educate me on how you're doing 360 photos if that's working. Thanks.

Hi. Having  the same problem very recently with the mini 2. I was able to post the 360 sphere photo via Google photos to Facebook with it working but you must back it up to the Google photos cloud first and then post the 360 to Facebook. It does not work if you try posting while it is only stored on your local device. The problem seems to be with the newer versions of the Fly app. Just tried the newest version released for the Flip today and no difference. The Fly app is still broken on this now. FYI Google photos will also need full access to the photos on your device for it work. Not ideal to have to use another app to make up for the current Fly bug but at least you can post till they fix the app.

Thanks for this info.  I've never used Google Photos before and didn't really want to introduce another program in the mix.  When I did try the experiment on my iPhone, google photo apparently requires access to your ENTIRE photo app/device rather than being limited to a single photo, or a single folder.  It did not work for me likely because I never let it finish trying to import and backup my entire photo library on my device.

When you share it from google photo to Facebook, are you sharing a link back to google photos or importing the actual photo into FB?  Skypixel just does a lame link on FB and I found most people do not click on the test links I did because there is not even an image preview.  Just a Skypixel advertisement basically.  Thanks.

Once the local photo is backed up to Google Photos Cloud you can share it directly to Facebook from Google photos and have the 360 work on Facebook. I have noticed that Facebook for iPads does not support viewing 360 photos yet though so be aware of that. Works on iPhone, android and pc Facebook though. Although you give Google photos full access to your local photos you only need to back up to cloud the one 360 Photo you want to post. A cloud icon will show up on the Google photo once it is backed up to cloud and ready to post. Do not use Google Photos automatic backup or backup all unless you want to.
