Flip-Style Case Pressure: Is it safe for the Osmo Pocket 3 Gimbal?

Hello everyone,I'm new to the DJI forum and am looking forward to learning and sharing tips with all of you. Thanks for welcoming me!

I recently purchased an Osmo Pocket 3 and have been using it. Since it has a built-in gimbal, I was looking for a protective accessory
when I found and purchased a flip-style cover that uses the DJI MIC2 mounting space on the included case.

The inside of the cover has a thin sponge for cushioning, which seemed helpful.
However, when the cover is in place, the sponge presses down on the gimbal and camera head enough to leave a small impression on the sponge,
and it looks like a mark that won't disappear after a short time.

Thanks to the built-in support of the case, the unit doesn't move around inside,
but I'm concerned that this constant external pressure could negatively affect the Osmo Pocket 3's gimbal system over time.

If anyone has any experience or information regarding this issue, I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!

This is the same with the default Pocket 2 case. It has yellow foam that gets pressed against the gimbal and has an impression.
Not sure if it's the same 'pressure', but my Pocket 2 still works fine.

Oh, I didn't know that the standard Pocket 2 case had foam like that.

It seems the gimbal isn't as susceptible to external pressure as I feared.
It seems I was being overly cautious for no good reason.

Thanks for your response. Have a great day!

Two yellow pieces of foam. One fell out in my case.

If it didn't touch the sponge then how would you expect it to provide any cushioning in the first instance?

You're right. I also considered that the sponge in the cover would be compressed to some extent, but I was concerned that excessive compression might cause issues with the gimbal.

Thanks to your reply.

Thank you for sharing this information, Montfrooij! I didn't realize there were two yellow foam pieces in the case.
You mentioned that one fell out—I'm curious, did you lose it completely, or do you reinsert it and secure it each time you put the device in the case?

Thank you for recommending this product.

Coincidentally, I had already ordered a case of the type you mentioned through AliExpress.
I received it yesterday, and the internal construction of the case was decent, and the plastic seemed sturdy.
Unfortunately, however, the interior of the cover is too narrow, making it a bit difficult to insert and remove the gimbal. Every time I put it in or take it out, the gimbal is forced to move, so I've decided to put it aside for now.
Is it possible that I have received a defective product?

Ah, you meant that you lost the sponge....
In that case, isn't the sponge currently pressing against the gimbal part of the Pocket 2? Is there any problem in that state?

Thanks.

I still have it and it still prevents the gimbal from scratching the actual case (I think that is why DJI put it there) but my case is from DJI, so I'm quite sure they designed it the way it won't hurt.
