Hi!

I bought an Osmo Mobile 6 some time ago, specifically to record some vertical videos where I am tracking myself with Active Track.
The whole reason I got the Osmo was so I could use the main camera, for the much better video quality and tighter framing.

To my surprise, most of the videos I've recorded have been unusable, because during the video the Osmo/Mimo app switches from the main camera to the ultrawide camera, which has a much wider POV and worse video quality. Not sure if this happens because the Active Track temporarily loses tracking, but it is very annoying and defeats the point of having got the Osmo in the first place.
I'm not zooming out manually, I've tried finding settings that could disable this, but the only thing I could find was disable the zooming with the knob, which I'm not using anyway, and is completely unrelated, as I'm not touching the Osmo while I'm recording.

Is this in fact what is happening? Or is it some bug? Can it be fixed or disabled? Anyone experienced anything similar?

Cheers!

Hi Natalia, thanks for your reply.
The phone I’m using is an iPhone 12 Pro, and both the Mimo app and osmo firmware are the latest versions.

Here is a YouTube link to a short clip, I started filming on the main camera (1x) and then stepped out of the gimbal boundary on purpose, and when that happens (at the 4 second mark) you can see it switching to the ultra wide angle camera, trying to find me I assume, and when I step back in it picks me up again, but instead of returning to the main camera, what it does is digitally zoom into the ultra wide camera, it doesn’t go back to the main camera, so the image is unusable from that point on, as it’s just grainy mush.

It’s a shame because it’s clearly a great device but it is being severely let down by a bug that has made me have to reshoot most videos I tried shooting with it and consider selling it or returning it.
