Please accept my apologies for my ignorance...I can understand the function of the SD card to record images and video. I have a Mavic 3 Classic with SD card slots on both drone and controller. Which records video and what does the other card record? Thanks.

The microSD card placed on the DJI drone will save and record all photos and video clips in high quality. Here are the reasons why you need a microSD card for DJI RC:

1. It is for caching videos (the current firmware version does not support photo caching).
(Note: Videos cannot be cached if a microSD card is not mounted. Meanwhile, you can only preview low-definition files after tapping the Playback icon on the screen of DJI RC when the aircraft is powered on. If the aircraft is powered off, no files can be viewed through the remote controller, because the files are transmitted from the aircraft in real-time.)
2. It is for screen capture and recording.
(The screenshot and screen recording functions are only available after installing a microSD card. When the microSD card is not installed, a prompt will appear stating “Install microSD card”).
3. When the microSD card is not inserted, it is unable to copy internal storage files to the microSD card [Currently, the internal storage cannot be accessed by computers or mobile devices.]

My first attempt at recording a video....Not a great success. On reviewing the image from the SD card (128gb Scandisc as recommended by DJI,  MP4, Coding H.264, Video Bitrate-CBR, Video Cache  4GB) the result was quite "jerky". Every 3-4 seconds on a regular basis the image froze, slightly reversed in a jerking manner then started normally only for the issue to repeat after 3-4 seconds. Any ideas as to what the issue is and how to resolve it? Many thanks. Colin

Hi, I think I may have resolved the issue with my "jerky" video. The video SD was one removed from the drone which proved to be jerky. I have just now viewed the recording from the SD card in the controller and that is OK. Could be a corrupted SD card? Which SD video recording card would you use to download IE the one inserted in the Controlled or Drone? Thanks for your time on this. Regards: Colin
