Third time lucky.  Perfect conditions to make the trek up the hill, though walking poles were needed.

It sure would.  

On my property surveillance flight this morning I spotted no trespassers but i did catch a glimpse of two very small black bear cubs.  I wanted to get in closer but as soon as they heard the drone they quickly ran into the thick underbrush.  I went out to that spot on my ATV a couple of hours later and found lots of paw prints of the baby bears but no large prints. I have no doubt the mama bear was nearby so i didn't stay in that area very long.  I'll be keeping an eye out for them on each surveillance flight.

You need a motion-detector camera like @DAFlys uses.

No doubt that would be my luck or lack of.  Two bites of those powerful bear teeth and that would be the end of it.  

I do have several trail cams back in that area as I'm still trying to put a stop to the hunters trespassing on my property.  Just another reason why I make 3-4 surveillance flights a day if the weather permits.

That's a really good suggestion Mr B.  

Lovely shot Mr B.    A little work to remove the foot prints and you're 50% of the way to that seasonal shot.

It does seem that way at times.  Although since I had intrusion alarms and motion sensitive lights installed in the one area where most trespasser are entering I haven't see but 2 trespassers and they were both black bear cubs.

We had a dusting last night. Then it gets cold again. I have a smokestack I have to map in NJ. It is surrounded by apartment buildings so it should be a challenge. Nothing like something different to keep you on your toes.
