I think its time for me to share some very posotive news about my exsperience with DJI products specifically my Air 2s. Ive been filming trains for 6 years and I purchaced a Mavic air way back in 2018. I soon realised how much of an improvment this was over just using 2 ground cameras to film. I also realised that the Mavic air was just not enough for my needs having only 15min of real flight time and not being very good in wind. I purchaced an Air 2s in 2020 and have never looked back.
When I fly I stay in the air for around 15-20min as I capture not only the train aproaching, passing and going into the distance but the scenary that is in the area. I will often drive to several locations through the day and will film 3-5 trains. I fly up to 4km in total during each flight as well so you can imagine that I put alot of milage on the drone. Ive put more than 7million feet on it flying in all kinds of conditions including winter temperaturs down to as cold as -18c (No I will not do that again as my fingers froze LOL).
So in the early spring of 2024 I started noticing some slight jittering of the video captured that was very intermitant. Long story short as the spring/summer wore on it got worse and worse and I evnetually posted this issue here. I was certan it was a gimbal issue and in the end after sending the drone to DJI service that was indeed the issue. I had literally wore the gimbal on the drone out. DJI was very helpful and to my total shock without my asking they replaced it comletely with a new 2s in June.
I have now put an additional 2million feet on this replacment drone without issue. I know the Air 2s is now getting dated but with me using it for filming trains it has done the job very well and upgrading is really not an viable option as its alot of money but thats ok.
Way to go DJI for making such a great product, I also have an Action 4 camera and that has also been very solid (way better then gopro) I particularly like that it continues to work when temperatures are below freezing
