Quixk question, i have just upgraded from the N3 controller to the RC2. What  do you people who use the RC2 do about maps, do you download offline maps or do you use the wifi hotspot on your phone.

There is an issue with downloaded maps, the're off, see this topic.

I do download them as I don't have internet on my phone, but if map accuracy is important you'd best use tethering. IF there is mobile reception on the location were you're going to fly off course.

Hi there!
Thank you for reaching out. Please be informed that, when using the DJI RC 2 controller, you have a couple of options for accessing maps during your flights:

1) Offline Maps: Since firmware version v01.02.0200, the DJI RC 2 supports offline map downloading. You can download maps of your planned flight destinations in advance, which allows you to have the maps displayed even when there is no network connection. To do this, go to Profile > Offline Maps in the DJI Fly app and download the necessary maps. Keep in mind that offline maps are stored in the internal storage of the RC 2 by default and cannot be stored on a microSD card.

2) WiFi Hotspot: Alternatively, you can use the WiFi hotspot on your phone to provide a network connection to the RC 2. This allows you to access live maps and other online features during your flight. This option is useful if you need real-time map updates or if you didn't download offline maps beforehand.

Both methods have their advantages, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs and flight conditions. Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any problems during use, please do not hesitate to contact us.
