Air 3s in awe

Snow everywhere, wet and new. I had a couple hours I knew it wasn't going to snow, so I set my Air 3s on my front porch and take off. Beautiful snow everywhere, good video and great results. I bring the drone back home, and it refuses to go back into the porch. The building walls, pillars and ceiling on the porch give the object avoidance a very uncomfortable feeling, apparently. It refuses to come onto the porch, so I stood up and grabbed the drone (it was hovering at about 4 feet in front of me). The drone then starts pulling on me, like it senses my touch as a strong wind, pulling furiously away. I turned off the transmitter, hoping it would disconnect. It didn't stop it. Finally after maybe 2 minutes of a tugawar, it stopped. Prop dinged my finger in the struggle. I want to be friends with my 3s.
It occurred to me after the flight, I possible need to turn object avoidance off, for landing in a small area?
If I can harvest off someone else's experince on this, it will be very helpful. Thank you.
