hi,

I continue my search for the limits of the Action Pro 5 in the low light domain. I am at 14 hours of timelapse of a winter night (-3° in the morning).

The video is not very interesting but it shows the sensitivity of the camera and the excellent autonomy on the provided battery. 2.7k resolution, one image every 15s. There was a little less than 10% battery left in the morning.

Have a nice week.
J-Luc

14 hours is amazing!  Is exposure, ISO and white balance on auto?  What ISO range did you use?  Also, do you have any problems with dew, moisture on the lense cover?

Thank you for sharing your results!

- ISO AUTO 100-25600

No issue at all with moisture or ice.

Thanks for your advice on my little work ;-)

Really nice low light timelapse.    You got to love getting 14 hours on the battery.

Thank you all for your very kind comments.

To increase the autonomy, you must:
- Program the complete extinction of the screens, which only works perfectly since the latest firmware.
- Spend as little time as possible setting up the camera and framing the landscape. The screens consume a significant part of the available energy. All exposure, zoom, resolution settings must be carefully done at home on an external battery.
- The autonomy is inversely proportional to the number of images taken. One every 15 seconds -> more than 12 hours, one every 3 seconds -> much less autonomy: about 3 hours.

Have a good week!

It was at least my 10th attempt and the weather seemed favorable, the sky magnificent

Failed.

This one was not better :

I do like this one better with regards to the clouds. A bit more variation
But a nice clear night will come for sure.
Just be patient (and have the camera ready)

You're welcome.  Quite the process but well worth it to stretch the battery out that far.
