I updated firmware on both the devices, activated the o4 pro unit. but initially before activating the unit I connected only my usb cable to dji o4 pro air unit without powering it on from the fc-battery. suprisingly it got updated and i tried to bind it din't work. so i went again and downgraded the firmware, powered on with fc-battery first and then plugged in my usbc . i got the pop up promt to activate the device. i am sure this is a big bug allowing me to update the firmware without activation?

now after activating the device properly i upgraded the latest firmware -> removed the usb c restarted the fc-battery -> tried to bind again with my n3 goggles it did not work

i tried every possible method downgrading the n3 firmware and resetting again. can someone help me on how to binf o4 pro to n3 goggles?

and the n3 goggles when connected to dji fly app -> connect aircraft button -> there is no o4 pro, but in the goggles it is getting displayed

I found the solution myself. After we set the air unit on binding mode(blinking red light). the n3 has a bind button which is the power button. when you hold it for about 3-5 seconds it starts beeping and binds to the air unit. In my g2 everything was different so sorry if you find me dumb...happy flying!!

I’m having a similar problem with a brand new O4 Air Unit (Lite), which will not bind to my Goggles 3.

I also plugged into just USB and updated the firmware, then power the air unit from the battery and activated it, and now it won’t bind.

I’ve switched the goggles to o4 Air Unit, got a blinking red led on the air unit for binding mode, get beeping from the goggles for binding mode but it never binds.

I think my brand new air unit is dead out of the box.

Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Please try the following steps to link your devices:
1. Ensure that both DJI O4 Air Unit and DJI Goggles 3 firmware are updated to the latest version.
2. Power on the DJI Goggles 3.
3. Open the DJI Goggles 3 menu, select "Status," and choose the product you want to link from the top right corner.
4. Power on the DJI O4 Air Unit and ensure the linking status indicator light is red.
5. Press the binding button on the air unit, the red light should start flashing, indicating it is in binding mode.
6. Press and hold the power button on the DJI Goggles 3 until you hear continuous beeping and the battery indicator lights cycle.
7. Once linking is successful, the air unit's binding status indicator light will turn solid green, and the beeping from DJI Goggles 3 will stop, displaying the video transmission.

You can also refer to this video for a detailed guide on the binding process. https://www.dji.com/uk/o4-air-unit/video?backup_page=index

If the binding still fails, please provide us with some footage showing the binding failure so we can investigate further. You can upload the footage to Dropbox or Google Drive and share the link with us.

Thank you for your cooperation.

This is definitely a mistake. When you connect the unit to the PC without a battery, you can update without activation. Then, even if you insert the battery, do activation and all the hardware is the latest version, O4 AirUnit and Goggles 3 will not install the Link. But in this way Goggles2 establishes the connection, I have not found any solution for this.

After assembling the Dji O4 Air Unit, I connected it to the PC via usb without connecting the battery, it did not ask for activation, I did the update. Finally, when I put the battery in, it asked me to activate, I did. Now it does not bind with Goggles 3 in any way. It binds with Goggles 2 but definitely not with 3. I downgraded and then upgraded to the latest version but I didn't get any results.

Hi, there
Thanks for your information.
We suggest you unbind the O4 Air Unit and Goggles 2 first, then follow the steps as Post #5 to try again.
Please keep us updated after trying, thanks

That's the problem, it didn't connect with Goggles 3 so I connected it to Goggles 2. I have two O4 Air Units. I updated one of them without installing the battery and then activated it after installing the battery and then it did not pair with Googles 3. The other Air unit, after installing the battery and activation, I updated it and it paired with Goggles 3. Now how will I get this problem, this happened because the update was done before activation.

All the hardware I have is in the latest version, I have downgraded and upgraded many times, but the problem still persists, pairing is not possible. How should I proceed? thank you.

Hi there. Please troubleshoot the issue as follows:

Note: To support DJI O4 Air Unit Series, DJI Goggles 3 firmware must be updated to v01.00.0300 or later.

Please verify that the device model selected in DJI Goggles 3 is DJI O4 Air Unit Series.

If the issue persists after the above troubleshooting steps, please send us below information for further analyze.

So for me, after activation I connected the unit to the dji assistant 2 pc software and downgraded both my goggles and o4 unit, and then tried binding it worked for me. Maybe it might work for you too... In goggles reset it in the about section it will downgrade automatically.. I think so. Hope it helps
