Hi - Just wondered if there was anyone out there who had tried one of these - TBH I have not had any signal problems as I always stay within sight but wondered if this should be an add on just in case I lose signal somehow - There are lots of people saying they work great on the Advanced and Proffesional
I have the "Windsurfer" antenna booster (basically the same thing) and it does work. I went from 1500 ft range to 7500 ft with no video lag or anything. It isn't omni-directional though, the booster must be pointed perpendicular to the P3P to get good range out of it... For $30 it was alot cheaper than the DBS or FPVLR mod antennas that are available, they start at around $100 and go up from there, both of those require controller modification as well (for power)...

Green my favourite colour ;)
So the weather today was a bit shaky, but I ended up with a little more than 1800 ft. Longer distance with the windsurfer than without. This was cloudy, windy conditions with quite a few houses around it. I would say it is worth it for sure! Tomorrow is supposed to be a lot nicer out so hopefully I get a better idea of what it is capable of.

oh well done - this might be a stupid question but does it just boost the RC signal or does it boost ...
The video signal originates from two 2.4ghz directional patch antennae that sit inside the RC. These are more directional, but overall seem to be a stronger signal than the 5.8ghz control signal from the single aerial antenna. So to answer your question, no, this does not boost the wifi/video signal, but seems to bring the control signal more up to par with the video signal.
Hi all! I have made my own from piece of cardboard and aluminium foil and i can tell you, IT WORKS! The farthest I've flown with my P3 Standard was over 2km. That was from the shore over the ocean. Never fly without it. Just adds more reliability when flying and it's very easy DIY! Never thought that the piece of aluminium would give so much more distance and altitude. I've also gone up 500m too, without any signal issues. So i highly recommend everybody the windsurfer antenna mod. And hey it cost me like 2€ (glue)
