Is the  DJI Air 3s ActiveTrack & Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing & Obstacle Avoidance any good in this shot video I have put it through some real life tests personally I think it is incredible !

It seems like a great all round drone except for its weight in the UK,   hopefully the UK will adopt the EU C classifications again and make this a viable option.

There are rumours that we might be go back in,  so in some ways fingers crossed but in others it may add more restrictions like in EU they can't fly at night now.

Yes it has different algorithm and also has Lidar which makes a big difference.

Depending on its condition you would get between £250 and £400 at the moment but when/if the 5 pro comes out I feel the 3 pro would decrease in value as those who got the 4 pro will probably sell them.

That sounds awesome! The DJI Air 3s seems to have really advanced tracking and obstacle avoidance. It’s great to see real-life tests proving how well it performs. Looking forward to hearing more about your experience with it!

I know that lots of people are talking about how good the obstacle avoidance is. Although I can’t compare it to a different drone with obstacle avoidance I will say my first active track experience ended up with the drone hitting a tree.  It was in the open and didn’t crash but collided. I will say it was super cold and I think the sensors got fogged up as well as there were no leaves on the tree but the Lidar sensor did not pick up the tree and went side ways into and out the other side. The only damage was one propeller.

Hi - Since doing this video and lots of other active track flights I popped out today to track a mountain bike for a movie for a friend of mine, everything was going fine until near the end and like your experience  it did not pick it did not pick up some of the twigs on the branches of a tree (with no leaves this time of the year) and also clipped the props. Lucky no other damage maybe it is not perfect but still very good.

What requirements do I need to be able to operate at night?


In accordance with the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947, in order to ensure the visibility of the aircraft during night operations, a green flashing light must be active.


This requirement is effective from December 2nd 2021 for the open category, and from July 1st, 2022 for the specific category.

You need to check your local laws to see if it's allowed,  countries like Belgium and NL have already deviated from the EASA rules and have extra rules on top.

I have seen some crashes lately. Mkes me jittery to trust the features. So many kids wreck drones with the follow mode.

Yeah you are right - unfortunately I crashed mine two days ago while testing it to its limits as it has no upward sensors it didn't pick up some branches above it

Eet can. Eet haz 4k 120 fps (air 3 has only 100), and air 3s has 50 megapiksels unlike air 3 wich joust has 48. Also, aym prety sur air 3s OAS is nightscape unlike air 3. But air 3 is compatibl with goggles 3 unlike air 3s. Just get the air 3s iph anythingh.
