does anyone know what it means that the red LED in the powerbutton of the Intelligent Flight Battery is blinking?

Not sure,never had it happen. Do you have DJI Go? If you do check the state of the Battery with the Go program.

I think the battery is too warm....

yes I have DJI GO, I was just not sure if something bad could happen if I use this battery on my P3.

I guess this is not the problem. The battery is laing in my room since two days. And just started blinking sometimes at night - and keeps doing so.

The temperature should be something like 20°C.

Could it be:

Auto-Discharging Function: To prevent swelling, the battery automatically discharges to below 65% of
total power when it is idle for more than ten days. It takes around two days to discharge the battery to
65%. It is normal to feel moderate heat being emitted from the battery during the discharge process.
Discharge thresholds can be set in the DJI Pilot ap

The battery could be auto discharging....

If this happens when you are trying to charge it, it is still too hot to charge. it will blink untill it has cooled and then charge

Well, if you're not willing to try anything I guess we'll never know -- how about a little bit more information.  

Like, what are the rest of the LED's doing?  Does it indicate the level of charge and/or the level of life remaining?  Will it charge? As somebody has already asked, what does the DJI Pilot display?   

Regarding auto-discharge heating...  I purposely let one of mine get to the discharge date and then started making regular temperature measurements with my IR thermometer.  The maximum difference between the one that was discharging was 1.5 degrees F.  The minimum differential was .5 to 1 degree.  Ambient temp was 75.  The peak temp on the side of the battery was 76.5F.  That said, I would rather not keep them in the carry case during those periods.  I doubt it would create a problem, but I do know there is no air space around them in the case.

I understand. Try to latch on to one of the DI Guys in the forum and see what they have to say. I have never noticed that before. Has it been updated to the current firmware?

This happened to me....you have to be certain that your battery has been updated with the latest firmware and then you can set in the DJI GO APP how many days until discharging will start (2 to 10 days). I have 6 batteries and set them all to 2 days wanting to make sure I'm not leaving them fully charged for long periods of time...

thanks for all your tips and proposals. I did contact DJI support directly now, and they told me to send it back.
They also didn't say (know) what was wrong. So let's see what happens.

Hi,

just a short update.

Repair is "ongoing" for almost 2 weeks now. Current status is at least "free of charge"- But customer support cannot tell me any more details.

heute hatte ich eine Mail - nach ganzen 3 Wochen - dass meine Drohne auf dem Rückweg ist.

Bisher aber noch keine Info, was nun wirklich kaputt war :-(.

your drone isn't kaputt, you can check your RMA anytime on the main page of forum! Of course it takes some time do the whole repair process.
