I dont believe thats what their asking, I think they mean does the gimbal make any noise that the internal mic can pick up. To answer your question yes in multiple reviews people have said you can here small amount of motor noise in the microphone which would make it optimal to buy a separate mic.

Yes, That's right... This is what I want to know.
I have 3-axis gimbal of other company for Gopro and pick up motor noise,
especially move fast or wide, quite uncomfortable noise in audio....
Anybody know how is motor noise ??  Affordable or better buy external mic ??

From what I've heard the motor noise is definitely not particularly loud and you'd probably only be able to hear it in a fairly quiet environment. As far as an external mic theres so many to choose from so it'll be good to look around and find one that fits your needs. Just a note remember to purchase a powered version as the Osmo doesnt provide power to the microphone.

Sorry for off topic.
I'm looking for small microphone to go with OSMO and came down to Rode VideoMicro.
Would this combination work on OSMO, Rode VideoMicro + Fiio E6 (to power Rode VideoMicro)?

You are right, Videomicro is not going to work since it's not powered.

Which gimbal do you have? I've Serena review of the feiyu tech g4 and the pilotfly funnygo and they seem to be better than osmo since there is no gimbal sound recorded

External mic or wireless mic might be considered.

The internal mic is useless for anything but using it as a reference to sync recorded audio to.

Apparently, it works with the Rode VideoMicro (non powered mic).

From Philip Blooms Instagram post.
"My quick temp solution to the unusable @djiglobal Osmo audio (listen to previously posted clip and yes I do believe usable audio is essential on a device like this) The problem is the motor/ fan is rather noisy and right by the small internal mic. Luckily next to the rubbish mic is a 3.5mm mic jack input.
Using the $60 @rodemic#videomicro , phone holder with 1/4 20 thread I used a double ended screw (oo-er) that is on one 1/4 20 for the phone holder and 3/8ths to screw into the mic shoe bottom.
I mounted it on bottom as less likely to get in shot. Most probably will up get a small little clamp for for corner. Also if you want to hear your own voice then this directional mic isn't ideal. Check out the rode stereo video mic pro. Picks up more or less a 360 polar pattern (but Stereo) but do mount it far away from the gimbal.
Oh...it works. Much much better!"

The Rode VideoMicro is mono only, not stereo.

I don't know how it would work because it's not powered. Everyone says the Osmo does not supply power to the external mic.
