Despite the quirks it has, i love my Neo(s), especialy for flying FPV in the woods, low on the ground. But, sometimes, especialy in new places,  i don't know where i am flying, and if i crash the drone at such a moment, how in earth will i find it back? I can see the last moment before crash, but it doesn't help much in a forest :-(
Help appreciated!!

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

When the DJI Neo is connected to the Goggles, you can access the video from 30 seconds before it was lost. To do this, please navigate to the Goggles menu, then go to Settings, followed by Safety, and select Camera View Before Loss. This feature can help you determine the location where the drone was lost. If the DJI Neo still has power, you can enable ESC Beeping in the Settings and Safety menu, which will produce a beeping sound to help you locate it.

Please note that recording cannot be enabled while viewing the Camera View Before Loss video. Additionally, the last known location of the DJI Neo will be updated after the Goggles are connected to the DJI Fly app.

If the DJI Neo is connected to a remote controller or controlled via Wi-Fi, you can tap Profile on the DJI Fly interface and select Find My Drone. This will allow you to view the video from 10 seconds before it was lost.

In controller-free mode (when intelligent functions are enabled through palm takeoff), please be aware that the camera view before the loss will not be generated, and the Find My Drone feature is not supported.

Thank you for your understanding! If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out.

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

So if the drone is still connected to the googles N3 after the crash, is there no way to see its live location on a map?? The video doesn’t help much when it falls from a height in an open field (which just happened to me). The ESC beep is also unheard unless you’re 10 ft away.

Hi there, we truly apologize for the inconvenience caused. The only way to look for your drone is to use Find My Drone feature in the DJI Fly app.

Launch the DJI Fly app and tap: Profile - Find My Drone.

1: Indicate the location of the aircraft owner.

2: The last coordinate system position when the aircraft was lost. (This location records the coordinate system position of the aircraft in the last connection communication.)

3: If the aircraft still has power and the communication is normal, tap Start. The light will flash, and the aircraft will beep.

4: If the aircraft still has power and the communication is normal, tap and view the image information of the aircraft’s current position to help determine the aircraft position.

5: Tap and find the aircraft using another map on the mobile phone.

6: The last coordinate system of the flyaway aircraft. (It records the coordinate system information of the aircraft in the last communication.)

Setup or it was a default setting in the Goggles3 and Avata2 last Spring to record the last 30 seconds of every flight.  Setting carried over to the Neo.  Unsure if the N3 is set up the same or can be user set.

A few sessions ago I barrel rolled into the ground.  My limited manual mode skills needed more altitude. Ground had ~20cm of fresh powder snow. For whatever reason contact was lost.  Used the last 30 seconds video to locate Neo.  Gave me visual geographical reference points, distance from home to reduce the search area. Didn't bother with Find My Drone.  Crashed ~100 meters from H point.  Hole in the snow made by Neo was easy to spot.

Have used the Find My Drone feature locating the Avata2 a couple times.  Along with activating the ESC beeper when close allows locating the quad in fields of high grass or in the woods.
