So he is 5.87 miles out, and is travelling at 21 mph, his time so far is 13 minutes of flight.
he can get back inside the total flight duration of the stock battery, give or take. -- he even has 57% left and is returning. All seems almost only a little beyond normal (implies a flight time of 30 minutes?). What isn't normal is presumably he is getting video to his phone at 6 miles?
a battery hack can simply be another 4s lipo in parallel to give more duration. Just open the stock battery, solder a pigtail on + and -, and then plug in a charged 4s. Both batteries would drain together, that wouldn't change the video or control range though. Maybe he is using a patch antenna on the ground, a relay, or maybe he hacked together that picture in photoshop and it was autonomous? |
