Good afternoon,

My team currently uses the L1 sensor onboard the DJI Matrice 300, with subsequent processing through DJI Terra.
Having the availability of the coordinates of some ground points on the LiDAR surveyed area, sometimes I involve them into the processing as elevation GCP or check points.

So, I was wondering two main questions:
1. Is it a commonly accepted procedure for enhancing the accuracy along the vertical axis for LiDAR processing?
2. When the Quality Report shows the statistical parameters related to the difference between the altitude of the ground point value and the altitude of the point cloud value, which region has been considered for this type of computation (basically, what is the research radius used?)

Thank you

Hi, there
Thanks for your patience.
After confirming with the relevant team, here are the answers to your question:
1. DJI Terra supports the import of elevation control points. Point cloud output can be converted into the 85 elevation system or a local elevation system to meet the requirements for delivering high-precision results of LiDAR Point Cloud surveying and mapping.
2. GCP: This function uses the plane coordinates of Ground Control Points (GCPs) to locate the point cloud and move it to the elevation of the GCPs by calculating the least-squares adjustment within a horizontal radius of 0.3 m around the GCPs.
