"I am jumping into this thread as I am having probably a similar issue.  Using a dji mini 3 pro and a dji mini 3 with the screen controller I  always been using with my mini 3 pro. Long story short. After using my  first drone on maybe 600 jobs, always set to infinity(mountain symbol) I  crashed it and then bought a dji mini 3 and a replacement dji mini 3  pro. In the process i updated to latest firmware and all is working but  infinity focus is not at infinity setting anymore. Instead infinity  happens a few steps before. See picture. Hi, thanks for responding. I am based in Sweden. I guess sending would be to Holland.
But, I am pretty sure this happens to both my units, dji mini 3 pro and dji mini 3.
Since this is controllable and mf is working when I move the slider it makes me believe this is a software issue. Issue is that when moving slider to infinty it will go beyound infinty. Why? Is this the routine with latest firmware or only my unit? Would be great if someone could verify my problem here and if not I assume firmware changed here.

Hi there.
We suggest you pull the focus scale bar and try other focus distances other than infinity to see if it is blurred. Or try auto-focus to see if the image is still blurred.
If it is still blurry, we suggest you send us the relevant operation video and blurry photos for further analysis. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

1 - Manual focusing slider is fully functional

2 - infinity focus is achieved on restart of drone but infinty focus setting is according to provided image. Not where it should be. Is that correct position now? Or do infinty focus happens on different places on different drones? Who can test rhis behaviour on a dji min 3 or dji mini 3 pro. I need confirmation of my issue.

3 - Adjusting slider manually to infinty will always cause blurry images.

4- Auto focus is working correctly, Manual focus is working correctly when adjusting. ONLY infinty focus will not work as expected anymore.

Hi there. Not all things will be clear when the focus is adjusted to infinity. When manually focusing, whether you need to adjust the focus to infinity depends on the distance between the subject and the camera:

Infinity focus: suitable for shooting distant scenes, such as landscapes, starry sky, etc. At this time, adjusting the focus to infinity can make distant objects clear.

Close focus: If the subject is close, such as portraits, still life, etc., adjusting to infinity will cause blurry images, and the focus needs to be adjusted according to the actual distance.

Dynamic adjustment: When the shooting distance changes, the focus needs to be adjusted at any time to ensure that the subject is clear.

So if you want to shoot a clear object, you can use autofocus or slide the manual focus scale to achieve a clear state.

If I get another users attention I might get confirmation of the issue. A test where MF is set, drone i restarted, then enable infinty focus, take some images, landscapes or city scapes. Upload images.

If I get no attention on this, I will post video and examples from borh my mini 3 and mini 3 pro. I did not check my dji air 3 recently bought but might test on that unit as well.

Hi there. You can provide us with your operation video and blurred original material so that we can submit it to our engineers for analysis.

Here´s a link for a set of dng files just taken. I named the blurry images to Infinty in their names. The sharp ones are set to a few steps below infinity as in my posted example in first post. Clearly camera back focus when set to infinty.

Infinity focus means that when the lens is set to infinity, it has the widest range of subjects in focus. If you're not shooting a foreground then "everything" will be in focus. Therefore the image should look fairly sharp. You will need to find infinity manually.

Hello, thanks for answering.
If I disregard the infinity symbols(mountains) on my controller and find infinity focus manually then I assume my unit is working properly.

If I were to trust the mountain symbol as an indicator that now I have set my focus to infinity, then I will back focus my camera by a lot. Checking general users on youtube and testers they mostly indicate that setting focus to mountain symbol(infinity) they get a sharp image. Clearly not the case for me.

My conclusion is I have an issue with my unit so I will do some deeper checks with firmware with dji assistant, try deeper resets if possible and also comparison with my other drones. Maybe it´s a simple factory calibration error, it will show.

I posted in a dji facebook group pointing out my issue. Seems at least one user is having the exact same problem with his dji mini 3 when mf set ro infinty. To soon to draw general conclusions.
I'll have a deeper look during this week.

I guess when using dji mini 3(non pro) with the mini 3 pro controller starting point for infinty is not from mountain symbol but a few steps before this. If I start my mini 3 and don´t touch the slider it is actually in infinty but slider shows something else.

Conclusion. Imo should be fixed in software. mManual mode and infinty is not relaible with dji mini 3 and the mini 3 pro controller.
