Hi guys, I recently found out that the DJI Goggles 2 were updated to be compatible with the DJI Avata 2 and the O4 and O4 Pro unit. I recently acquired a DJI Neo that just has the O4 unit, but it cannot be linked to the DJI Goggles 2. I don't understand, any comments? Please DJI release an update to make it compatible.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out! Currently, DJI Neo is not compatible with the DJI Goggles 2. The DJI Neo was designed with O4 technology, while the DJI Goggles 2 were developed earlier using a previous generation of image transmission technology. O4 represents DJI's latest advancements in image transmission. Upgrading the communication algorithm and incorporating multi-antenna technology, significantly enhances both the maximum communication distance and the stability of image transmission connections in complex environments.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Hello Gamora , thank you very much for the answer. Of course I understand that the O4 unit is the latest technology that DJI has launched on the market and I also understand that the DJI Goggles 2 were launched some time ago, but according to DJI these have been updated to be compatible with the latest DJI technology which is the O4 unit. Why then the DJI Goggles 2 if they are compatible with the DJI Avata 2 and the Mini 4 Pro that also bring the same factory unit as the DJI NEO that is my doubt

I'm not buying anymore dji products until they add the backwards compatability. DJI did us wrong by not doing this. It's a greedy move.

I believe it's simply an update to firmware in DJI Fly app can make Neo compatible to Goggle 2. DJI please consider.....as it becomes infinite requests on it

What kind of evaluation? It should be standard that products are backwards compatible. I allready bought the first white goggles available for DJI Mavic 1. After that I had to buy the Goggles V2 for compatability with newer drones such as the DJI FPV. Then the Avata 1 came and I had to buy new goggles again the Goggles 2 and now I can't use them for my NEO and are forced to buy the Goggles V3.That is so incredible annoying, Why is that? The same with Controllers. It is so.....irritating!  And after a period i saw that the Goggles from my DJI FPV were suddenly compatible with the Avata1. If i want to buy a Avata 2 again I need new Goggles. This is something DJI has to realise. That a lot of customers are sick of buying Goggles which cost 600 euro's again and again. It should not be so difficult to make Goggles and controllers compatible with older versions.

I too have been waiting patiently for a firmware update for my Goggles 2 & Motion 2. I have a m4p & rc2, then purchased the Neo (pre-order), I received the Neo but refuse to open it (sealed in box) until I see a Goggles 2 compatible firmware released; i saw that the rc2 had a firmware update (adding the Neo) but it's not enough for me to break the seal. Still waiting!

DJI can treat the customer like this because there is no competition at the moment. However, once another company comes up with similar products (which will eventually happen one way or another), then DJI will be punched hardly losing lots of its costumers and realise how much frustration it has created.
The worst is that DJI assumes that we, the customers, are stupid and cannot understand the basic. If O4 is compatible with Goggles 2, any other drone using O4 should be compatible with G2, period.
DJI thinks we are stupid and do not understand that O4 system is just a minimal upgrade over O3. Imagin this "Apple says you need to buy a new iPhone every time a new IOS is released. If you have a iPhone originally with IOS 17, you cannot use it with IOS 18 and need to buy a new iPhone." Can you believe this is what DJI is doing to us!!!!
Another very important point is the amount of electric waste produced through this business system. DJI is contributing to this environmental hazard.

FPV Controller 2 connects to Goggles 2, and since O4 is compatible with G2, FPV C2 is also compatible with O4 Air Unit. But when it comes to Neo which uses O4, they dont work. Why? Because DJI wants to sell you G3 and FPV C3, no matter if you just purchased G2 and FPV C2 a few months ago. This is terrible and a dirty trick from DJI. I hope DJI understands this and correct itself. A new compatitor will eventually  come up and all your "loyal customers" will dump you exactly the same way you treated them cheaply with these dirty tricks. In FPV world, when Walksnail appeared and created an alternative digital image transmission, many pilots move away from DJI. This will also happen in consumer drone market, unless DJI stops this and realizes that customers can easily see its dirty tricks. With the pressure from US on DJI, there will soon be a couple of consumer drone makers in the market. DJI, please understand we want to loving you and being loyal, but you treats us badly.

Dear DJI Team,

First of all, I want to express my appreciation for your incredible products. Your innovation and technology have transformed the FPV experience, making it more immersive and accessible.

However, as a loyal customer, I would like to kindly ask you to consider making the DJI Goggles 2 and the FPV Controller compatible with the DJI Neo. Many of us who love your brand have already invested in your ecosystem, but unfortunately, not everyone can afford to buy new equipment every time a new product is released.

By enabling compatibility, you would not only strengthen customer loyalty but also make your technology more sustainable and inclusive. We believe that DJI is not just about selling products but about building a passionate community of FPV enthusiasts.

I hope you take this into consideration. Thank you for pushing the limits of innovation and for listening to your users.

Best regards,

Well, I believe there is nothing to block releasing of new firmware that makes Neo and G2 compatible but a will. I do not understand there is none after so many requests. So Dji do it...

Yes!  Please add compatibility for the goggles 2 and the FPV controller 2 for the Neo.  I know it can be done.  Just do it already.  The only way many people will buy a Neo is if it stays a cheap drone by being compatible with the goggles 2 and FPV controller 2.  Why would we buy a well priced drone only for it to become expensive by buying a the new goggles 3 and FPV controller 3???  For reals DJI, be a good company and just make it compatible already!

That’s on par for the course.

Can you give us any kind of inkling of us having the ability to utilize the Neo with the Goggles 2 and FPV controller 2? Or is it just not going to happen?

Seems odd that these work with the O4 air unit, but not the Neo. Just odd.

Well, in my opinion if any device is able to be compatible, it should be in factory's interest to deliver the firmware because not only good products but mainly great support makes the customers happy and willing to buy.

P.S.1 I own Goggles 2 and O3 air unit. These two work together without problem. Now, I bought Neo with RC-N3 controller. I do not need Goggles 2 compatibility to have Neo working. It works perfectly good without it but if Neo and Goggles 2 are compatible DJI gets much more credit in my eyes. So, when I will be thinking about some new product, I would have a strong point for what direction I should go... So far, DJI somehow doesn't want to understand it.

P.S.2 Goggles 2 are still the best option for me. They have diopter adjustment, "large screen", I can use any 2S LIPO battery to power them. Since I found correct face foam padding the goggles 2 are perfect. None of those released after cannot compete with them.
