Forgive me if I am late to the party but DJI has finally put the cameraless version of OSMO in the DJI store. $269 for everything (battery, phone holder and grip) or $219 for just the grip. Bummer is there is a 30-40 day wait......
My question is the opposite.......if I buy the full OSMO with the camera, will DJI sell an Inspire One without its camera for those that have already invested in their technology?
I've read the OSMO camera won't work with the Inspire 1 but I have seen the Inspire 1 sold as a base unit with no controller, batteries, camera, etc. at a number of locations (though not directly from DJI).
Inspire 1 X3 (white one) will work on the OSMO handle with an upcoming firmware update.
OSMO X3 (black one) will not work on the Inspire 1, as it's a completely different unit (not designed for upside-down use) with locking axes, a lock button and the pitch motor is on the opposite side.
Hope I don't regret this but I've ordered a handle too.
I don't know much about photography but my only concern was what closer photos & videos would look like using my Inspires X3 on the OSMO as compared with the purpose built X3 camera that sells with it. (because of different focal lengths) I've recorded some videos and photos walking around with the Inspire and I think I can live with it.
Does anyone know if there are any other differences eg will the gimbal "locking" mechanism work on the inspire camera?
