Spring Valley Shopping Plaza

Looks like a fairly nice shopping center and convenient for the nearby residents.  That's also quite a bit of surface parking available.  Great job on the video Charles.

Thanks, It's not a pretty center. I was there to map the parking lots and figured I would get some video.

An interesting mix of buildings.

Huge place. Plenty of parking, too.

I believe there is a rail behind the shopping plaza.  My wife was with me so we went for breakfast instead of exploring.

It's an interesting line.
I followed it both ways, to the west there used to be a split, but that has been overgrown since 2008 (could not look further back)

Weather lasted until later in the day and then the clouds rolled in.  At least I got an hour out on the jetski and then smoked a slab of ribs that I had previously marinated.

We have had temps in the 40s which feels downright balmy compared to the 20s.

Hearing the 20s brings back memories of my tour in Chicago and Washington, DC.  I'm glad when I retired I made the decision to head south on Interstate 95 to seek out a warm spot for retirement.

Yes, It seems like my kids want to move to NJ. I think that means I'am staying in the northeast for a while. The Good news is winter is almost over.

/That's true. They are almost completely on their feet. Once they settle into homes my job is done. They both were engaged this winter.

Sounds like they are getting set to get out on their own.  

When I lived on land my neighbor's daughter boomeranged 4 times before she finally got out on her own.  Hopefully, yours will be successful before 4 attempts.

It happens. My daughter came back while fighting with a room-mate. But she found another place. Sh has been on her own a couple of years, maybe three. My son is on his own for almost a year. Mistakes are how they learn.

Lessons learned from mistakes seem to stick with you longer as they are hard to forget.

You know it's funny. I find the girls listen a little more to advice but with boys, they must experience great pain or the lesson had to cost allot for it to sink in.

Some studies suggest that boys may be more likely to learn through hands-on experiences and sometimes need to experience things firsthand to truly understand, which could be interpreted as "learning the hard way."

Agreed. Most lessons are not learned without great pain.
