I have a 3d Printer and like many like to print things for my many drones. I found this set of bumpers for the Avata 2 with inbuilt top screens. They work very well and clip on very securly withount the need for cable ties. Not sure if they are necessary and I wondered if they would affect the flight. I just tried them in quite strong wind and they were fine. Do others thnk this sort of bumper is necessary or just a wast of time

I think they will affect the flight especially in the wind.

So did I but it was not my experience this morning. I think these ones that nicely clip on will be good to keep in your bag and put on if you find yourself flying in areas with obstacles, twigs and branches etc. The rather lovely pink colour will also help you find your drone should it end up on the floor.

If you have a 3d Printed they are cheap enough to Print.

That is good to hear.

I have a similar model of those protections and honestly for me they just add weight and no much defense for the ducts

As I said they would not be fitted all the time but if you were to fly in an area with quite a lot of hanging branches they could be useful. As I said. They cost very little to print.

Who ever designed them made a good job and they fit well.

If anyone would like the stl files I would happily email them

I use a similar design but also modify it to reinforce some weak areas and to reduce weights. The pair weigh in total 19 grams printed in PETG, without the top screen. Some user said the default model would add 50 grams to the setup, which is excessive.

I'm mainly concerned about the prop duct breaking since it is not user-servicable, at the speed the Avata normally flies: it'd just shove branches away so the top screen would only reduce handling and flight time.

How much weigh does the print add to your setup?.

Mine are orange and the big benefit is that my spotter can see the drone better with them fitted and more distance.

Yes, but for a better view of the drone I think that some stickers could work better
