I think if there had been better global adoption it would have removed a lot of confusion especially when people travel. Currently you have to be in the region before you can setup RID.
Interesting find DA. Could be put to good use by first responders but terrible for nosy Karens. Hopefully, the price will put off many of the Karens from purchasing it.

My guess the best way to get around all that is just keep buying drones that are under the 250 g but doesn't require or mode ID at this time
That applies to the USA, on EU the 250g rule doesn't mean no RID.

Well, here in Spain we is almost impossible to fly in the A1 or A2 subcathegories except if you do it under a STS, so for hobby I usually fly in A3 and I don't use the remote ID on non-DJI drones
