Yep, but add an aditional security layer is always welcome

I flew there today from the same spot and it never dropped under 45mb so there must have been some interference I think and that could have affected other protocols too.

Yep, I am a big fan of Bardwell and in this video he exactly taks about the non independence between the video and control transmission. That's the reason why I prefer ELRS over the FPV Controller 3

Have you seen the Gemini controllers that can operate at same time in the 900 and 2,4 GH bands?

Look at the Radiomaster GX12 or the Jumper T20S Gemini version

It is a system more indicated to do long range, but fot the difference of price I think that it compensates in comparison to use a simple receptor. The GX12 controller is around 160$/€ (10$/€ more than the DJI FPV Controller 3)

I think for my next O4 build I will go with the FPV3 controller as I already have that,   and then add ELRS later if I feel it needed.   So far O4 on the Avata has been pretty good.

I haven't had problems with the Avata 2, but on traditional quads I prefer not to take risks

You are constantly raving about how good the motion controller is, how bad the FPV RC3 is, that you want manual mode to be banned  and then you are posting a video like that trying to make your point?
It's one of the most boring FPV videos I have ever seen, it lacks the nice landscape shots of well composed cinematic fpv videos and it is completely devoid of any freestyle skills.
If that's your contribution to get more people towards the MC3 and away from manual then you failed miserably.
