Hello everyone,

Five months ago, I purchased a DJI RC PRO second hand from Ebay for $540. I needed an RC Pro so that I could side load DroneLink and capture orthomosaic maps with a DJI Mini 3 Pro. For the last five months my RC Pro has worked great, but last week after two weeks of no use and sitting in a case, I tried to use it and it refuses to charge. When plugged in while the remote is off, the screen flashes the DJI logo on and off, while the first green LED on the top of the controller flashes to indicate it is charging with low battery. If I turn on the controller while it is charging, I can see the battery percentage drop instead of go up. I have tried charging with a 5W charger and 30W.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue with an RC PRO? I tried to find guides online to replacing the battery or charging port, which I am assuming to be the issue, but the concensus online is that the RC PRO is built solid and hard to get into/service. The controller itself works, I can fly my drones while it is plugged in, but the battery just does not hold a charge anymore. What are my options to getting this remote to charge again?

Hi Gamora,

Is the 30W charger not sufficient for charging the RC PRO? I didn't have any issues with it in the past. If I purchase that 65W charger, can you guarantee that will fix my issue? Have you seen this problem with other RC PROs?

Thank you for your response. We recommend you to use the DJI 65W Portable Charger and Type-C Cable shown on the above picture. Also, please try the below steps given:

1. Check whether the battery level has reached 100% (All four bars of the battery level indicator are on).
2. For some batches (at the period when the product was just released), to better maintain the battery, the battery is placed in hibernation mode before DJI RC Pro is activated. The maximum battery level is 60% and cannot be charged to a higher battery level. If the current battery level is 60%, DJI RC Pro cannot be charged. Devices shipped from January 2022 have optimized this function (by updating the ex-factory firmware) so that the DJI RC Pro can be charged to 100% before activation.
3. If DJI RC Pro still cannot be charged after activation, check whether the original charger and charging cable are being used.
4. If the charging still fails, please try to use another charger and charging cable and try again.  If the charging continues to fail, we suggest you to sending back your device to us for further testing. You can submit online repair request via this link: https://www.dji.com/global/support/repair
