DJI has released the 1.16.4 update for the DJI Fly app, introducing a new feature that simplifies the management of the return-to-home point (Home Point). With this version, pilots can now manually change the Home Point directly from the “One-Tap Return-to-Home” pop-up, without having to navigate through the settings menu. When will it be implemented in the DJI RC remote controller?

I hope it's as you say, it's a great update and significantly improves usability when you're on the go.

Youtube reviews on the last update seemed to suggest that the last update would be the last,  let's hope they were wrong.

I think that the change of controllers and transsmision system should be at least between 2 generations and not between each one

The RC2 was released in July 25, 2023 so nearly 2 years seems reasonable.

I don't think so, since the DJI Mini 3 is still on sale and uses the DJI RC, so the update will definitely come out.

Yes it was barely a year between them and they didnt even make the RC2 backwards compatible.

Perhaps there is a limiting issue with the different Video/Transmission 'system'. I.e., Ocusync 3  (RC) versus O4 in the RC 2.

In the new firmware the most striking novelty is the modification for the RTH which introduces a shortcut, so it is a feasible modification also for the RC.

Point taken.  I admit to knowing nothing about the Ocusync relationship to those functions.

i think because of the internal specs of DJI RC compared to RC2, DJI cant push the update to DJI RC yet (not enough storage, less ram between RC and RC2, etc)
until this point DJI hasn't released technical specs of the internal component like processor they are using, ram (speeds, bandwidth), gpu, etc.
simply like this, imagine installing latest DJI fly app on 2015 basic android phone (how much lag, etc)

In fact they use a simplified version on the RC, but this does not mean that they cannot modify a submenu to implement a function that already exists in the app, only hidden in the settings. The modification does not imply a slower app.
