Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my DJI Action Camera 5, and I’m hoping someone here can help. Yesterday, I used the camera as usual, connected it to my PC, and transferred some files. Afterward, I turned the camera off. Today, when I tried to turn it on, it wouldn’t respond at all – no lights, no sounds, nothing. It’s completely unresponsive.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

I thought the battery might be dead, so I replaced it with a fully charged one – still no response.

I connected the camera to a charger using the original USB-C cable and left it charging for about 30 minutes – no signs of charging (no LED lights or anything).

I removed the SD card and tried turning it on without it – still nothing.

I attempted a forced restart by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds – no luck.

The camera doesn’t show any signs of life at all. It was working perfectly fine yesterday, so this is really frustrating. Is there a way to manually install firmware via SD card even if the camera isn’t responding? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello there. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please try the following troubleshot steps:1. Check whether the power-on method is correct:
Short press the power button to turn on, about 2 seconds; short press the record button to automatically turn on and start shooting, about 2-3 seconds;

Short press the power button to turn it on or short press/long press the record button to enter snapshot mode, it will also automatically turn on and start shooting.

2. Make sure the battery is fully charged or has enough power. It is recommended to connect the charger and try again. If it still cannot be turned on, it is recommended to press and hold the power button for about 16 seconds to force restart.

3. Try another battery. If there is no extra battery, remove the battery connect the product to the charger, and power it on. If the product can be powered on after using another battery or connecting the product to a charger after removing the battery, it can be determined that the battery is malfunctioning. We recommend purchasing a new battery for usage.

I have three batteries, and I’ve tried all of them. The batteries are fully charged, but the same thing happens with each one. When I remove the battery and SD card from the camera and then connect it to the charger, the DJI logo briefly appears on the main screen and then the camera shuts off again.

Hello there. We would like to know if the device can be powered on normally after removing the SD card and battery and charging it with a charger for a while?

When I hold the camera power button for 16 seconds, only the logo appears and then the camera turns off. The same thing happens after I put the camera on the charger without the battery and SD card... Maybe I should try manually installing the firmware on the camera, maybe that would help??
