Does anyone know whether a lower ISO gives higher contrast?
I'm getting quite different results with auto which chooses a high ISO and manual, where I choose a low ISO.

IIRC it was previously discuss that manual ISO will turn off HDR or part of it, since the camera uses dual gain or something like that. Tried searching the thread but couldn't find it.

Aaahhhh! That’s what I’m seeing. Thank you so much. At first, I thought that it must be the meter, but I noticed that manual at high ISO match auto virtually but once I dial the ISO down in manual, it no longer looks like HDR.

As discussed in another thread the sensor is very possible this one. In the product page it has some references to the dual gain. From what I understand(not much tbh ) such a small sensor will always be trying to use high levels on auto even in good lightning to capture the details of the shadows.

Thank you for that. The effect seems quite dramatic and Im continually switching between auto and manual now, to compare. I think I prefer manual although highlights can get more easily blown out, but it doesn’t look quite so squashed!

Hi there. Thank you for your inquiry. Lower ISO settings generally result in higher contrast images because they reduce the sensitivity of the camera sensor to light, which can lead to darker shadows and more pronounced highlights. This is particularly useful in well-lit environments where you want to capture sharp details without overexposing parts of your image.

Ahh, that explains it. Thank you DJI Gamora. I thought that I was losing my marbles when I first saw it. I’d never realised that the ISO setting can give quite a dramatic difference. Perhaps that accounts for why the auto ISO hovers around the same area in sun and shade. It makes the picture more consistent.
That's a useful thing to know, because it certainly gives a little more control over contrast levels in the picture. Thank you.
