I tried your tip with the V1.3.20 and V1.2.6 via USB with and without the key combination.
No chance to fix this issue.
I try to go back to GO App V2.3.0 and start update the RC from this version.

Thanks you so much for all your inputs and informations!
I have fixed the problem with my RC.
1. Removed the DJI GO App V2.4.0
2. Installed the DJI GO App V2.3.0
3. Started the upgrade procedure from GO App
4. Downloaded the new firmware 1.4.30 again to the RC and updated the RC successfully!

Now, I go sleep (minutes and minutes runs away in such situations) and will try to update GO App to V2.4.0 later and look what happens with this new version!?
Inform you all later what happens after 40 flights and 100Km distance without any problems before this happens with the new GO App.

why is not listed under DJI official download page? is this firmware only available via phone/tablet?

How do you downgrade the app on an iPad, I am having the same issue....

After the update my controller starts up with a red light and beeps.  If I move either stick in any direction then it stops and turns green.  Any Ideas?   I am a noob so please don't tell me in Engineer speak.  Thanks

Hi dmcgirt,

On MAC OS you can find the IPA files under ..\music\itunes\..\mobile applications\
But if you have updraded the App in iTunes you will find the older version in the recycle bin if you have not deletet it! Otherwise, maybe you have a backup from the older files in your backup from the TimeMachine? If you do not have a backup, maybe an other person can help you to get this file.

1. delete V2.4.0 GO App on your device
2. delete V2.4.0 GO App in iTunes folder (mentioned above)
3. copy V2.3.0 to this iTunes folder
3. open iTunes and you will see the old App
4. install V2.3.0 to your device via iTunes and sync it

Well another update, another problem. Seems to be a common theme for me (and many others).

Running DJI GO App V2.3.0 on iPad Mini 2 (IOS 8.4.1) tried to update the RC from V1.3.20 to V1.4.30 through the App. After successful download and attempt to install screen showed failed to update and the RC just sat there beeping at me, same as 'wrs heli' post above. In the end turned it all off, removed the DJI GO App from the iPad and re-installed it from iTunes. Logged back into my account, synced all my flights back and connected to the aircraft. All OK at that point so downloaded the RC update again. After 'successfully' upgrading it was still showing RC V1.3.20 so updated it again and hey presto it worked. Checked all was well with the aircraft and then decided to upgrade to DJI Go 2.4.0. All seems good at the moment but in true UK weather style it is howling a gale so no flying today to check it out. The cross hairs and gimbal adjustment is a nice feature though.

Just informational: As I have first installed the DJI GO App from V2.3.0 to V2.4.0 and then tried to update the RC, I removed also the V2.4.0 first in iPad, did a shotdown of the pad and then reinstalled the V2.4.0.
The problem still exists. In my case, only to go back to GO App V2.3.0 was helping to me.

  I don't use a computer to sync my iPad, but instead use it stand alone.  I will install itunes, and see if those directories are created, and hope for the best.
I assume there is no way to do the downgrade stand along on the iPad?

OK - figured out how to install 2.3.0 DJI GO App.  Still having the same problem..

When I power on the TX , the app changed from Inspire to Phantom 3 , not sure that matters, but then I goto Camera view, then download upgrade fine, and try to upgrade..The attached is what I get after 10 seconds of beep beep beep..

I have a Phantom 3 STANDARD and my last update couple weeks ago seemed to mimic your symptoms.  Every time my bird was up the video would cut out and go white screen and app crash.   I found that it was solved by the following... With DJI Go Running and bird paired with Controller and Tablet...
1 Go to the Menu icon in upper Right hand side.  
2.  Select "Other menu" and note the position of the slider switch for the Video Cache option entitled "Cache locally when recording"
3.  If the slider for that option is in the "on" position... slide it to the OFF position

I think it is an issue with perhaps the memory capacity of your tablet device and that the video caching is too much for it.  You may also want to clear your video cache.
Let me know if this works for you!

What about the rumors of this new firmware causing reduced output power? Anyone experiences lower range or more signal losses? Obviousely I didnt update so I cannot test.

I got the "failed to uprade" error that wrs heli first mentioned... I can't connect to my P3 now.  I tried deleting the IOS app and deleting all the files on my iPad Mini, then reinstalling the DJI Go app... same behavior...  The instructions talk about "reinstalling the RC firmware" but don't mention where the firmware is.   

Everything is completely broken now, and I don't know where to begin to get things working again...

Help!

Nice with a tilting crosshair for the gimbal. No need for a fix anymore

I haven't even flown mine and had to adjust the tilt. Hopefully I can set it back to zero now.

Flew yesterday and today after updating RC and DJI GO (total 6 batteries) and my gal flew faultlessly.
Went out 764 metres whilst videoing and no loss of signal. Only diffrence to some is that I'm still running IOS 8.4 - still unsure about IOS 9.....

Hi munnecke, sound's really bad
To solve my problem was only the way to go back to GO App 2.3.0, and then the update file was downloading again and every thing works fine now. After this I upgraded to GO App 2.4.0. All systems are now on the latest version, also iPad mini 3 on IOS 9.1.

Maybe you can try the hint from sploodge (force reinstall the RC) on following link

Did you try to Reboot your tablet after DJI GO Update download ?
We often forget to reboot our tablet.
It is always good to reboot.
I always do once I download an App update.
It works for me.

Hello, I tried to update the firmware for my controller yesterday afternoon. I went though the steps in the app, It told me in the app that it wasn't updating anymore, so assuming it was done, I shut down, and put my phantom away for the night. When I started the app and remote today it gave me the message that there was a firmware update and now my light is stuck on blue (remote), and I have solid red lights on the front and rapid blinking yellow in the back of my aircraft. When I go through the app, I get a no signal red, and tapping thru the Overall status page is blank!?!? Please any help would be appreciated, just got my phantom maybe two months ago, and I don't want to live without my flying camera. It's fall for gods sake!!!!

First, download the new App 2.4 and reboot your tablet after download.
Make sure to turn off your Phantom for updating and make sure you have an internet connection.
I am pretty sure the App 2.4 must be properly installed before you connect your RC to your tablet and proceed with the RC update.

That is what I did successfully.

Check on the internet connection and it's strong and the drone is powered down. Still nothing is happening and the overall status page is blank. The remotes light is a light baby blue. I noticed in some of the posts and videos it was a darker blue??
