No, its not broken or damaged.  I still have no connection with the app.

Turn off the drone . Turn off the RC and turn it on and then the App not the drone.

I have app 2.4.0 on Verizon tablet using 4.4.2 android

Remote Control states it is at 1.4.30

Inspire 1 states its at 1.4.30

The RC and I1 are not communicating.

I have gone through a number of firmware updates - since February.
I tried re-installing and I begin this update and it fails after beeping 3 - 5 times

The RC, Tablet, and I1 stopped communicating during the install.

I do not believe it is complete on the RC although it states it is.

I have restarted everything clean.

I know how to link - but don't have the dialogue box to execute.

Help would be greatly appreciated.  I flew once this am before updating firmware -and I've been scouring forums to solve.

I have a paid gig with the I1 tomorrow and am a little concerned.

HELP!

I E-mailed back.   Separate question:  Can I just buy another controller and pair that up with the existing Phantom 3?   I'm about all out of options here.   I can't get through to anyone at DJI.  There seems to be no way to reset the Controller - or plug it into a computer to even see what's wrong with it, so what is left to do?   I have a couple of Company profile shoots coming up and I gotta do something fast about this?

Join the club...  My RC and App don't communicate after the recent firmware 1.4 update...  Can't get any help from DJI - their customer Service is a Joke.   I'm trying what this guy on the forum is telling me, but that has not worked either...  Its beyond frustrating.

I am receiving a update failed message.

The update had been fully downloaded and a request to start upload appeared, which I clicked.  The RC beeped 4 times and the following message came up:

Upgrade failed.

Anybody?  DJI?

And retry the update on your RC when it failed. Make sure you are connected to your DJI account.

New tablet re-downloaded the update and then did the exact same thing.  Did not work.  Do you know if I can purge the current update 1.4.30 from the controller?  The camera seems to be ok.  However I cannot get them to talk to confirm.  I believe my issue may be that the update did not update fully the first time and is corrupt.  How can I reset the controller to accept the full update?

Just repeat the firmware update on your RC.

Hi WA2Sorg,
To reset the RC follow the steps in this Video from sploodge.
Four key combination ( hold C1 + C2 + Redording + ISO Scroll Wheel and Power ON RC while you are holding the keys).



and try to update the RC again. After successfull update, it could be that you have to relink your RC to the Bird (one person on this topic have to do this).

We have the same issue and customer service was no help yesterday.  I was told we will need to send in the RC and an RMA would be emailed to me so far nothing.  We just purchased the unit yesterday and the first thing the App on our ios device said to do was update the controller.  Fail.

The reset option with the key combinations that i have seen shared on this forum does nothing.  The customer service rep had me do the same thing with no results.

I have a big problem with RC Firmware update from V1 ...

I had the same problem with my rc update. The quickest way to get back in the air is to reload the older version 1.3.20 for the rc and boom it worked.

I tried it also with an older firmware, but the RC LED keeps blue and nothing happens.

This is now what the support answered:

"Hello,

if your update on the Inspire 1 TX has failed try the following workaround.
Please press these four buttons on the remote controller at the same time, namely, C1, C2, Recording and the Scroll that adjusts ISO,
meanwhile, spare another finger to turn the remote controller on (don’t let the other four fingers go),
then turn on the app and you’ll be able to download the firmware again and please follow the steps on the app and the remote controller will hence be updated.

If this doesn't work you will need to send it in for a check by DJI."

A little update... I thought it would be a good idea to keep the RC switched on for hours to reduce the battery power in order to force the RC to zero.
But i couldn wait long enough.
At 50% Batt. level i tried againt to update and it started !!!
Around 4% there came an error : Remote Controller FPGA error / Solution: Hardware malfunction, please contact customer service for repairing.
But the update continues...now i am at 54 %....

Hi!

I updated controller (also have the latest iOS firmware iPhone 6 and latest Dji app), huge mistake!

Update went well, it was success. Everything seemed to be working fine but when I fly more than 100 meters (height or distance) away the craft won´t respond as it should.  When I tried to fly back (full throttle) first happened nothing. Camera view showed that it was drifting with the wind slowly, like the were no GPS although it showed 20 satellites. I kept full throttle on and very slowly it started to get some speed. To me it looked like that only 1% of full throttele was in use. It took about 3 minutes to fly back. Camera tilting worked fine even the craft did not respond other ways. I Tried it again and same thing happened.

When I tested it in short distance (10-20m) it works as it should

Any ideas? And sorry for my bad english =)

Try this IPA file in the following link, but if you have never registerd / downloaded the V2.3.0 with your iTunes account it woun’t work. Some people have had luck with this file.

To return to V2.3.0 ->

On MAC OS you can find the IPA files under ..\music\itunes\..\mobile applications\
But if you have upgraded the App in iTunes you will find the older version in the recycle bin if you have not deletet it! Otherwise, maybe you have a backup from the older files in your backup from the TimeMachine?

1. delete V2.4.0 GO App on your device
2. delete V2.4.0 GO App in iTunes folder (mentioned above)
3. copy V2.3.0 to this iTunes folder
3. open iTunes and you will see the old App
4. install V2.3.0 to your device via iTunes and sync it

I could fix this issue my self (see #44).

If you read through this topic there was never a DJI person to give some informations about this problem.
Did you contact DJI support? There are many users they have this problem with new 'out of the box' RC upgrades with GO App V2.4.0.

I've been following this thread carefully and the only way I see to get this fixed is to first downgrade to DJI go 2.3 which I don't have anymore and haven't been able to get 2.3 working into my iPhone.

Calling DJI customer support is a waste of time so I'm stuck there... Wonder if someone has a workaround this...
