I purchased the Phantom3 Standard yesterday.. was able to get thru the simulator set up but when I try to operate in real flight mode it wont connect as it tells me to update firmware. So, my question is, must I update to the new firmware before I am able to operate the unit or am I just doing something wrong ( highly possible !)

The system on the app shows Safe to Fly ( all green, 9 satellites etc)... but as soon as I hit the auto take off button or try to start it myself it locks me out thru the app.
