Could you see them from the ground ?

Did they just happen to be there or could you perceive their nest near by ?

Did they follow it all the way down, I'm allergic , that would be a real dilemma, great something else to worry about.

What did the rotors look like after ?

I bet those rotors could take out a whole beehive.

Wow... After seeing your video I did a google search for "bees attack drone" and found some more videos.

This one was probably shot with a GoPro because it has the audio.  Almost makes you believe all the buzzing was coming from the bees.  I was also amused by the disclaimer at the beginning that proclaimed:  "Some bees may have been harmed in the making of this video"

if they were Africanized, taking some of them out probably isn't such a bad thing

Aloha,

Well, this brings up the interesting issue of which bees are which!  We really need our bees and the only humans that should be concerned are those allergic.  Please proceed with caution.

Aloha and Drone On!

I've had this happen.  It's REALLY cool to slow down your video as much as possible and watch it.   (depending on your frame rate).    Try it and post a slo-mo.  It's almost fascinating!

The OP (Short023) is the thickest swarm I've seen so far.   I see them around my Phatom if I fly over a certain area but it's about 1/5 as heavy a swarm as what the OP shows.

Aloha,

Now that I have expressed my responsible side, it appears that DJI has a new marketing opportunity and re-purposed product - the Killer Bee Blender!  Really, only Africanized Bees are that aggressive or bees that aggressive need to be reduced in the gene pool.  Stay up for a battery or two and you can clean out a hive making it easier for exterminators to handle the rest - and stay alive.  As noted, now DJI needs to work on Fire Ants!

Bees are pretty important to our ecosystem. We just don't need the really mean ones. ;)

Cool video! Did you happen to see the UFO you caught? I haven't filmed one with my Phantom yet, but my brother catches these "fly-bys" all the time with his. They are quiet the mystery! At 1:34 you can see a bright white flash move from top left towards bottom right. VERY FAST! I was able to pause/play the frames during 1:34 mark and see that it starts at the left horizon line as a dark rectangular object and as it zips just above the tree line you can see it's white elongated form, which I was able to stop and view it at the tree line edge. A lot of different ideas on what these objects are....  We have been trying to figure it out for awhile now. Anyone else out there find these?  Awesome bee footage too!

Darn! On closer review of your footage I believe it to be a bee. Now if I can just debunk my brothers footage
