I guess it don't matter but it looks like an after thought that the phone holder is a silver finish where the rest of the Osmo is black... it's the small things...

In the tutorials, it is most definitely black.  Maybe they wanted to save money

It's meant to compliment the look of iPhone lol

I like the silver one, gives me a nice metal feel

Perhaps you can spray it with black paint (glossy finish)? I'm sure it will look good. Just saying.

This is done to prevent the phone from overheating, see white canon telezoom lenses But indeed, i asked myself the same thing, all accessories are black or with a silver accent. This thing has missed the spray cabin.
