What do you reckon the maximum takeoff weight is for the Inspire 1?

Note, we know the Inspire 1 weighs 2935 grams (6.47 lbs.) with battery (TB47 - 4500 mAh).

The Inspire uses the new E800 motor. The E800 is rated at 800g lift. So 4 of them gives you 3200g max rated weight. Those are very conservative numbers for this motor. I have seen video with a extra 600g weight added to the Inspire and it still had great flying performance. I don't think there would be any problem going up to 4200g AUW. Might bring your flight time down to around 10 minutes with a load like that.

Are you sure about the e800 motor in my limited reacerch over on rc fourms they go into a new dji e800 3 phase even motor with closed loop feed back it was a very impressive  write up by a dji engineer but elsewhere it was speculated  that the Inspire 1 will have 600 motors hence the use of 600 in the air frame  part number.   On a side note I wonder if it would be recommended or possible to do test flying without the camera giblets attached?
