Hi guys,

Im using a 5D mark III with 24-105 IS. It looks like the footage has rolling shutter on it, what is the ideal settings to get a smooth image? My current settings are 25fps, 50 shutter. I'm guessing the shutter should be on 100 or above?

Thanks in advance.
Best,
Tom

Your Shutterspeed should be the double of your frame rate to create a natural look.
But if you are doing fast movements with your camera it maybe would be smarter if you put your shutter speed higher then 1/50. Just try out what look suits you the most.
It would be also smart to use a higher framerate. With Magic Lantern and the 5D III it is possible to record in RAW at 1920 x 540 at 50fps and you can stretch the 540 to 1080 in post.
Or you just shoot at 720p at 60fps at 1/130.
I hope I was able to help you a bit.

with kind regards

Niklas

P.S. There are amazing videos on youtube which show you, how to use your shutterspeed to create different video styles, etc.
